Could I check if WinDVD 11 Pro for MS XP is likely to become available in a version that is compatible with a Phenom II 1100T 3G3 x6 processor. Also, is there an estimate on how long the updates for Blu-ray compatibility are likely to be available for this player?

I recently upgraded my Phenom II 560 3G3 x2 processor for a 1100T and found the increase in speed to be noticeable and positive, just my bundled PowerDVD 9 OEM no longer worked. I found that it would work by switching two of the cores off so that my processor behaved as a four core. I also found a noticeable improvement in image quality, no occasional tearing of the picture, so I am now also considering upgrading my Asus ATI 4250 and 4350 to an Asus ATI EAH6670 silent PCIe card.

I then found that a new-ish Blu-ray release, Spy Kids 4, was incompatible with my PowerDVD 9.

I downloaded and tried the demo versions of both WinDVD 11 Pro and PowerDVD 12. I found that neither were compatible with my 1100T in x6 mode, only in x4 mode. The PowerDVD took two compulsory registrations to get the demo working and the demo only played the Blu-ray advertising before the main menu screen as my cards were not recognised as having hardware decoding. Your demo was of a scarier price, to me, but I could check all that I wanted to check and then uninstall without registering, I actually find that to be a plus point.

So, I have a shortfall re Blu-ray playback and am hoping to find a player that will work with my system. I find the price of your player to be scary, but if it does the job that I need it for …

I found contacting sales with this question to lead to me not finding an address, Cyberlink and Corel, both, hence a forum posting.
