Keyboard Shortcut Map Cheat Sheet

Post by rubin110 »

After getting frustrated today with hopping in and out of the Preferences window, attempting to reconfigure my brain from Lightroom keyboard shortcuts to ASP, I decided to spend a couple of hours and make a keyboard shortcut map cheat sheet.

Image

You can grab a copy either in not-super-good-but-fits-on-your-screen-PNG or a plain SVG from the Downloads section on the project site...

https://bitbucket.org/rubin110/aftershot-pro-keyboard-map/

My reference was AfterShot Pro on Linux, I'm fairly certain this is exactly the same as on Windows, not sure about Mac but guessing you could simply replace Ctrl for Cmd. I haven't tried printing this out yet, so some of the colors might not be optimal. Additionally I don't know how well the plain or Inkscape format SVG will open up in CorelDRAW as I down own a copy since there's no proper Linux port at this point in time.

Find an issue? Typo? Please file a bug on the issue tracker, I'm most likely not going to pay attention much to this forum (hate them). If you feel like fixing any problems you encounter yourself, it's version controlled with Mercurial and freely hosted off of Bitbucket. Fork if you want to create an edit and ping me about merging back.

This project and all works within it are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License. Feel free to grab it and utilize it for personal use. If you some how end up making some money off this and want to give something back, try donating to the EFF, Tor Project or Noisetor. And above all else I do appreciate random Canon digital or 35mm film gear. :)

Hack on.

Hi

Thanks for that. The PNG version is fine, the SVG one is very broken in CorelDraw X3 here (see screengrab) but opens fine in Internet Explorer (which is set as the default program for SVG files on this - Win 7 64, I don't think I've changed the default as I don't think I've crossed tracks with an SVG file before).

Regards

Rick

Very Nice I am defintely a keyboard person and will avoid the mouse at all cost... I have changed some of the ASP defaults and will attempt to edit your map but it is much appreciated as is!

Thanks for that. It's a much cleaner layout than I could have done.

That layout will help transition from LR, but I suggest also having a close look at Bernd's layout here as well:

The basic idea behind this is to speed up the process by following ideas from ego-shooter games ;-)

So someone noticed that I had the Reject Flag set to the wrong key, that's fixed now and posted on Bitbucket.

Hah! That is some epicly wonderful looking fail there. Forgot that Corel doesn't play nice with standard SVGs, should have remembered since I had to deal with that getting some stuff laser cut a few months ago. I've now encluded an Encapsulated PostScript (.eps) formatted file. Try that and see if it works. If not you'll need to grab a copy of InkScape or print from a browser.

Yeah saw that. I'm most likely going to modify the default binding to something that will work for me too, but considering how at times I'll jump to a Wacom tablet and that I'm left handed, wasn't super interested in that layout. But thanks.

Funny you should mention that.
I am right-handed but use my mouse with the left hand.
A year ago I acquired a tablet that I use right handed, so since then this layout really started to work for me.

I since then added keys for copy sets, trying to keep them to ALT+ combinations with mnemonic names...

As anyone who uses a non-US keyboard needs to fiddle with the layout anyway, it really helps to invest some time in thinking about how to use it most efficiently.
