Has PSP X4 improved the HDR capabilities over PSP X2? Does it have more controls than only brightness and clarity?
Thanks
Tom

It's got quite a few more controls than just brightness and clarity. It actually may have too much.
-On the first step (after you've chosen which images get the HDR Merge), you can align by Edge Based or Feature Based, then you can custom brush (mask) in or out elements of individual frames.
-On step two is much of the HDR controls that many other HDR programs have. White Balance (Kelvin, dropper, auto); global contrast, highlights, midtones, shadows, vibrancy; Natural Detail or Creative Detail, with Local Shadows, Local Highlights, and Local Midtones; as well as having presets for all of these.
-On step three you get fine tuning. Smart Photo Fix; Color Balance again; Brightness/Contrast; Fill Light/Clarity; Local Tone Mapping; Digital Noise Removal. None of these include a picker and are all sliders.
Then you can save and close. I don't see a way to keep the HDR module open. There is a Batch Merge option but I haven't given it enough thought to try it yet.

Re: HDR PSP X4 vs PSP X2
Just like what DF said, there have been a number of improvement in the HDR photo merge of PSP X4, plus you can said the HDR file as an *.hdr that you can save and open at a later time. If you want to see how the new HDR photo merge of PSP X4 works, I suggest that you download the trial of PSP X4 at http://pnoy.me/coreltrials
