Hi, I'm having trouble with my quicktracks,some are working, some are not ,even though when I click on the SmartSound Quicktracks tap in the program, click albums, and I see the albums that don't work, its says they are available,and copied to my drive! But yet they don't work.Any suggestions?Thanks

Which version of quicktime do you have installed, try updating it.

Hi yes, thanks for your reply, I have the latest quicktime on my computer.


Just to update,I decide to try and delete the albums that didn't work? And would you believe after I clicked delete, they worked fine.I can't explain it better than that,I don't know why,unless some file was there twice and causing the error.I don't know, all I do know is its working fine.Thanks.

Hi , now what can I do about this error I recieve all the time,
The program has encountered an unspecified error and has stopped functioning.
Please contact Corel Technical Support and send the dump file for analysis.

It gives me the dump file, I just purchased this program yesterday, I love VideoStudio but this is getting frustrating.

You may want to reinstall the SmartSound Quicktracks. You can first uninstall it from the Control Panel by removing both the SMARTSOUND COMMON DATA and SMARTSOUND QuickTrack5. Then explore the disc installer then go to "Setup\RunTime\Quicktracks5Installer" then just run the SETUP or SMARTSOUND QuickTrack5 file.

Hi Abiel Corel NA,thanks for the info, but It seemed to me that the error I was getting was due to the type of video files I was adding, MTS.So I checked the smart rendering option,and also added only one file at a time to the time line,did what I had to do with that file and than added another,so on and so on,I'm up to nearly an hour now and everything seems to be working just great, I hope this tip helps someone else.

Ok next question, seems to me if I saved the edited footage which is in my project before I add a SmartSound auto music file to the time line. Started a new project using the saved file ofcourse,SmartSound auto files seems to work better and there don't be any delays.So if I saved the video part of my project to the lowest quality level that I've used in the project, (I believe there is like 3 different file types in my project,because there were 3 differnt camcorders used to get the footage in the beginning,but all are HD footage),will that decrease the quality level of my final project ? Keep in mind now I'm planning to put my final project on dvd so the movie will have to be compressed again from HD to SD. Thanks for your help, its very much appreciated.

Video Type, H264 Video
Attributes, 24 bits 1920X 1080,16:9
Frame Rate, 59,940 frames/sec.
Data Rate, Variable bit rate(Max 26000 kbps)

Video Type, H264 Video (Upper Field First)
Attributes 24 bits 1920X 1080,16:9
Frame Rate ,29,970 frames/sec.
Data Rate Variable bit rate(Max 16800 kbps)

Video Type, MPEG 2 Video, (Upper Field First)
Attributes 24 bits 1440 X 1080,16:9
Frame Rate ,29,970 frames/sec.
Data Rate Variable bit rate(Max 25000 kbps)

If it's ending up on a dvd, then I'd save out as mpeg2 dvd compatible file now, so you don't have to save ,compress, twice.

Guys heres something else I like your help with, when I download the free Templates or titles, its says, 'installed and will be able to use it once you close and reopen the program'', well I can't seem to find the new titles in the library drop down. (Titles)these are effects that I can use in a project ,for example on the beginning of my project ,correct?

Hi

Titles, this refers to the text boxed you add to your projects.
Between the Preview screen and the Library is a “T” symbol.

When you download the Title Packs 4 , 5 , 6 an 7 each installed pack will add 10 new titles to the library.

The Templates download are related to Instant Projects, these are the effects that are added to the beginning / end of your projects.
They are saved to a Corel folder but then need manually inserting to the Instant Projects library before you can use them. (Import a project template)

Hi Lata , Thanks for your responds, so these titles can only be used in ,"Instant Projects". Like you mentioned, import a project template, I did that, specify ,"Flame Title" But I can't find it to use it, other than in Instant Projects. Thanks

Hi

When you access the Do More download window you have several tabs at the top.
The Title tab allows you to download a selection of Fonts. (for want of a better description) These will be added to the Title library.

The Templates Tab downloads files used in the Instant Projects, these are a collection of clips basically creating a short project, These clips being added to the beginning of your main project.

The Flame Title is an Instant Project an assortment of video clips with a title in the lower track
Start a new project, the timeline is empty.
Go to instant projects and select the Flame Title, then view the clips in the timeline.
Viewing in Timeline View will show the individual timelines.
