Hi All,
I'm just in the first weeks of using ASP, so not sure if I'm missing it or ASP...
In my workflow I´m changing my metadata in two steps:
Step 1) Add general metadata to all images, like: Copyright, Maker, etc...
Step 2) Add specific metadata to a group/project, like: Headline, Location, Keywords, etc..
I got the impression that you can't add metadata to a selection of images directly!?
So, I tried to use the copysets. Introduced some new copysets with the setting, but I noticed that ASP only keeps these setting during the session. If you close ASP and start later, the setting in the copysets are missing!?
Question:
- Anybody noticed this behavior with copysets?
- Is my conclusion on adding metadata on a selected group right?
Thanks for your advice,
Co

Re: Copyset is loosing settings
If copy sets are not persistent between sessions, then you have a permission problem.
check the permissions of the CopySets directory in your AS user folder.
cheers

Re: Copyset is loosing settings
I don't think that your conclusion is right - at least for keywords. I just selected three photos of a new dress my wife had bought, and was able to add the words "New Dress" into the keyword panel once to cover all three. If I then select each photo, the words show up on all of them. The keywords don't flow automagically into the keyword browser, though, if that was what you mean.Cootje wrote:Hi All,

Henry, Afx, Mike,
Apologies for the delayed reply, was away for some days. Thanks for your thoughts.
I noticed I can copy the metadata using the copysets I made, so it looks like the problem is solved... But the funny part is that when I want to edit an existing copyset, specific settings are not visible (in particlar the IPTC settings)... Most important, it works...
Mike, you are right. You can add keywords to a group of images when they are selected. For me it is still strange - not productive - that you can't do the same for other metadata fields (IPTC)... For me the copyset approach is a workaround...
Thanks again,
Cootje
