DV capture problems

Post by shadrackc »

Hi there.
Just got on here and love Video Studio x4 with one exception.
When I capture video from my DV8 tapes, sony player, it will miss half of the beginning of the capture.
This has happened with more than one tape.
If I use Windows Live Movie Maker, no problems.
Anyone else have this problem?

Welcome to the forums, :)

What device are you using to capture your DV video? This has always been the format most favored by VS for years. Also keep in mind, you don't need to use VS to capture video. If you can capture using another program, then do so. Once your video is on your PC, then you can bring it into VS for editing. For DV, I've used an old freebie utility called WinDV. It seems to work much better than VS has.

Firewire to capture.
It does capture, but for some strange reason the video starts about half way through the tape.
I can use Movie Maker as well and that works.
Just would have liked to stay in one program but no problem.
