I'm working with 3000 x 2000 pixel images. I'm not happy with the quality of the pictures after PictureShow resizes them. Photoshop should do a much better job with the interpolation. The question is, what should the final image size be? 640 x 480?

eroom - This is what I do....hope it helps
1. I dont let PS3 "shrink" my pics from the original digital resolution I do it with a Photo Editor to slightly bigger than the DVD resolution (720x480).
2. I increase the saturation generally about 20% depending on the pic ..skin tones for instance would be less....
3. And lastly I increase the sharpening by one factor ...( to much will induce flicker on some pics)
4. I resave the pic at a High Compression ( the least ammount of compression) for jpg.
By doing this I get some great results ...
