Hi. I have been using VideoStudio 8 (yes, i know its old) on Windows XP ; I just upgraded to a faster PC and installed Windows 7 pro 32 bit.
ULead VideoStudio 8 will start, but if I try to play a video clip it crashes. Am i dealing with a inherent incompatibility, or are there some patches/ updates I need? I looked on the update site, but it didn't go back earlier than 9.

It's inherently incompatible with Windows 7. Only versions 12 - 14 (X2 - X4) are compatible, and even X2 required a compatibility patch.
