Cannot capture analog video input

Post by ericvideo »

in capture mode, choosing "capture video"I get error message "failed to initialize the video capture plug-in another program may be using it or this file has been moved" " open driver failed" 152.00.43.0 15023.4.2 my video capture device is a USB WDM 2860 and shows in the "source" window but no "formate" can be chosen and no video comes through. The operating system is windows 7 64 bit. I have "Magix movie edit pro 17" and "Cyberlink Video Director" and both of these programs work with the same device and capture. Neather one of these applications are running while using Video Studio. I checked and nothing else is utilizing this USB WDM 2860 device. I reinstalled the software, installed the patches, and uninstalled the USB drivers and reinstalled them. Can't think of anything else to try.

Unfortunately, not all video capture devices work with Video Studio. We normally recommend you capture using the software which came with the device, then open the captured video in VS for editing. In your case, you could also edit video captured by either Magix or Cyberlink.

Thank you Mr Berry. I assume you work for Corel. It would be nice if your product functioned with the KWorld PLUS tv capture device. I will just have to go on with my testing using your suggestion for now. Again thanks

Your assumptions are incorrect - Mr Berry does NOT work for Corel - with only a couple of exceptions no one on this forum works for Corel and certainly not me or Mr Berry - at the top is says "User to User Web Board" - and that's what we all are - users trying to help other users , we are not paid by Corel and therefore it is not OUR product.

We will all do what we can to help you but remember we are just users like you - we do not know how to get inside the programme to make it work - we can only suggest things which have worked for us or others.

I get the same message from VSX4 with my StarTech USB 2.0 device, so am just using Grabee that comes with it for capture, then bringing the files into SVX4 for editing. Works well.

Exactly - I have a small box called "ht my videobox" which will not work with VideoStudio at all - but the little programme which came with it captures absolutely perfect mpegs - I have just used it to transfer an 18 year old VHS tape and I am very very pleased with the result , which went into VS X4 for editing with no problem and is currently burning a DVD as I type.
