Hi

I've tried all the suggestions and reinstalled V8 and the upgrade V9 but unfortunately it still will not open. I get the Wizard page and then the error message. I think it's a lost cause becasue I've ben trying for 2 months to find a solution apart from reformatting the drive which is a bit drastic I think there must be a conflict with something else.

Thanks anyway

Hi ArcAngel

Thanks but I've already done all those steps yesterday that's why I think there's a conflict with something else - don't know what.

Hi Girly

Sorry you haven't found a solution as yet.

As for conflicts, i wouldn't have thought they would have stopped the program booting:-

Nero's Incd has been mentioned a few times on this forum.
I do not use Incd an cannot comment.

Windows Installer V3 is my latest problem, but this only seems to affects VS 9 afaik.

What operating system are you using?
Do you have anti virus software?

VS requires Intel Indeo, otherwise the wizard and libraries/templates don't work properly. I wouldn't have thought it would stop booting the program.

Sorry but at the moment i am running out of ideas!!!!!!!

I have full version 8 if you wish to try that, you can then use your VS 9 to up grade.(e-mail me)

Computers are like little boys, when there good, they're very very good, and when there bad, there awful.

Hello

I am slowly going mad. I have done clean uninstall/reinstall as per instructions from Tech Support but program will not get past opening screen (woman with camera). I've installd the patches, I turned off anti-virus program internet connection etc but just this darn error message every time.

I thank everybody for their suggestions anyway.
:x :(

Please tell us the following:

Your OS and corresponding service pack?
Memory
Processor

Do you have MS Windows Installer 3.1 installed?
Are you running in Administrators rights?

Did you try the software with other machine?

Try to create another account in your computer and install in the new account.

Be sure that the account has administration privileges.

Also, if you are running WinXP with SP2:

1. Go to "Start --> All Porgrams --> Accessories --> Program Compatibility Wizard".
2. Press next then you can choose from either a list of programs or bwowse for it manually.
3. After you've chosen VideoStudio 9, go to the next step then you'll be prompted to choose an operating system the program is compatible with.
4. Choose Windows 98 then click next until you finish the wizard.

HTH.
