"Intelligent" text automatism

Post by Pixel_Pusher »

Hi,

PSP X4 wants to be more intelligent then the users and changes the content of my text automatically. I want to enter a text which contains a text like "(R)" and this is changed automatically to a circle with an 'R' inside. I do not want this but cannot find any option to switch that off.
Is there a way to switch off automatic text changing?

That is part of PSPX4's Special Symbol support. Microsoft Word does the same thing, sure you can remove the option from the AutoCorrect or turn off AutoCorrect altogether but they probably suspected people would be more inclined to be familiar with this format.

I do not see nor know of a way to turn it off. However it only shows up if you type those three points in order so if you type the (R then a space and backspace it won't do it to you when you add the final ). Annoying but at least they're trying. They'll get it right one day. Hopefully soon.

Thank you for your answer and sorry for my late reply.
You are right. I know that "feature" from Microsoft Office but there I can switch it off. In PSP X4 I cannot switch it off. What an idea from Corel...
