MovieFactory 7 SE 'Next Button' unlit.
MovieFactory 7 SE 'Next Button' unlit.
When I open DVD MovieFactory 7 SE to make a DVD I am continually getting stuck in the same spot. This is newly downloaded to replace the previous NonFunctional '2010' program.
I can load an 'Existing Project' or start a 'New Project' at the main screen for MF7 SE. From the next screen, where 'Add Media' is lit at the top of the screen, the 'Next' button is not lit. Anyone encountered this, or have any suggestions?
Edit for Clarity
I am at a point where I have imported a Video File, and its' associated audio file, that I created with VS x3 Pro while on the 'Add Media' tab of MF SE(Step 1/3). I have been able to put chapters where I'd like them to be, named and saved the file in MF SE, and can watch the playback of all of this in the viewer of MF SE itself - sound and all. I also chose '1.4G' at the lower left since it is under 12 minutes in length. The 'next' button is not lit at the lower right to-where I can move on. What might I be missing? Also, I wish I had asked more clearly the first time to make this easier on those trying to help me. LOL@self

The only time I have found that is when there is nothing in the time line - it's not clear from your post - can you confirm that there is actually material in the timeline when the next button is not available.

While it should not be happening in MF7, when that appears in other versions of VS clicking on Alt+N will usually move things to the next screen, if indeed there is something to come next...

There is only a tone when I use 'Alt-N' with an unlit 'Next' button. Thank you for giving me something to try, AND something that will work when I'm all the way up-and-running.

The only other thing I can think of is to change the disc size back to 4.3 GB. That is the size of a standard single layer DVD, after all, and I assume you will be using such a disc.

No size change has made a difference - even when saved and reloaded. An alternate site, several years ago, asked if the user had registered his software but there was never any response. Is there any registration needed for the free download replacement? If so, how would I complete that?

As far as I am aware, no registration was required for MF 7SE. And in any case, registration does not affect the functions of the product.

Thank you for trying, Ken. Still at a loss here on how to make a DVD then. I have had my software for about 6 weeks and have been trying to make a DVD since the 2nd night. Please help if you're able or have any suggestions as to what I may be doing incorrectly.

Re: MovieFactory 7 SE 'Next Button' unlit.
Although I think you may have done it already, can you confirm that your video is in the MF timeline. Can we also assume that it is already DVD-compatible mpeg-2?

Re: MovieFactory 7 SE 'Next Button' unlit.
The video in question is in the timeline at the bottom of the screen, and can be right-clicked to give its' properties. The format is the MPEG format as saved from VS x3.
Re: MovieFactory 7 SE 'Next Button' unlit.
While awaiting today's responses a registration screen popped up for MF SE, but I have no info to input. Are we sure there's nothing to be done with registration, and, is there anyone I can call directly for support? The number listed had me on hold for over an hour TWICE and then disconnected. I have one phonecall that got through in 1 hour and 10 minutes but he never sent me the EMail I was promised.

Re: MovieFactory 7 SE 'Next Button' unlit.
well unless Ken has any other thoughts I would suggest that you download and install the trial version of VideoStudio X4 - you do not have to touch your existing installation at all X3 and X4 will happily exist side by side on the same computer. My reason for suggesting that is that in X4 Corel returned to the integral disc burning module that had been used in all previous versions up to and including X2, so in X4 when you click on Share >> Create Disc a somewhat similar window to MF7 opens but within VS X4. then you could use the 'add media' icons to put your video in the timeline - if the next is still not available to you then it is either the video or your computer , not the software. If the next then does work it must be something wrong in your MF installation.
I am afraid your experiences with Corel tech support are not unusual - one of the reasons so many people end up here.

I will try that suggestion of downloading the demo of x4. Thanks in advance for your continuing support.
