MF 3SE Update packs?

Post by Mike S »

Hi,

In trying to sort out my 'MF 3SE illegal operation' problem (see below), I have been looking at available updates but am now very confused as to what, if any, I should try to install.

The CD/DVD Burning Engine update refers to a ULCDRDrv.dll file in the Ulead Systems\DVD directory. I don't have this but have a ULCDRSvr.exe file (dated 2004/12/03).

Should I install the CD/DVD Burning Pack and latest update (2004/07/03) instead?

I also see that there are DVD MF 3.0 (Build ID:3000P01, 2004/06/03) and Hauppauge Win TV-PVR (2004/07/06) Update Packs but assume that I don't need these as my DVDMF application file is dated 2005/23/02. Is this correct?

I am also wondering where one finds the version number or build ID of the MF 3SE that I have installed? There doesn't seem to be anything under the Appplication 'Properties' or 'About U lead DVD MF 3.0' on the start up page, as one would expect.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I suggest you remove MovieFactory in the Add/Remove Programs then go to the "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\" directory and delete the "DVD" folder. Restart the system then reinstall it. This should restore the missing files you were talking about.

Install Update Pack 300P01 from DMF3 updates page. Also update your burning engine to make sure. You need to unzip the latest (i think its version .246) burning engine to the "Common Files\Ulead....\DVD" folder.

if you are still unable to see the other files, make sure you enable "Show all hidden files" in the Folder Options.

Thank you for your suggestions. The ULCDRDrv.dll was a hidden file.

I've tried loading the CD/DVD Burning update, Hauppauge Win TV PVR update and Update Pack Build 300P01 and had several attempts at reinstalling all the DMF files but to no avail.

I wouldn't have thought that I needed any of the updates, as my DVDMF application is version 3.0.1.0 dated 23 Feb 05. However, the CD/DVD Burning pack update files, dated 27 June 04, were of a later issue than supplied on my Version 2.3 Installation Disc.

I think that I might try upgrading to Windows XP in the hope that this may resolve some of the problems.
