Hi, I sometimes experience strange behaviour when deleting images.
I have set up Silver Efex from Nik software as external editor for my B&W conversions. When selecting "edit in Silver Efex", ASP generates a TIF image and the TIF image is automatically opened in Silver Efex. Adjustments are being made and when satisfied with the result I hit the save button. Silver Efex closes and returns to ASP. The new B&W image is found in the browser, just below the original color nef. So far so good. The fun starts if I want to delete other images (nef's) in the same folder. I select a image and press delete, but then the master for my previous B&W conversion is removed instead. To be on the safe side I now restart ASP after using Silver Efex to prevent unwanted deletion from happening.
I realize that Silver Efex is not officially supported, but Bibble did not behave this way.
Any suggestions?

Re: Strange behaviour when deleting images from a folder
Great way to get access to the phenomenal features of NIK Silver Efex Pro Software.
It certainly seems as though ASP is not properly refreshing it's read of the image files in the directory file structure, or Library catalog if you are using that ASP feature/method.
Restarting ASP is a long step workaround that shouldn't be necessary.
Have you tried pressing the F5 Function Key to force a re-read of the directory file structure while the File System Tab is selected and the original color subject image or derivative gray scale image is displayed in ASP?
[Addendum: After posting, I now see you are running on a Mac. Don't know if there exists any equivalent F5 Function Key feature on a Mac to force a refresh as the F5 key does on a PC.]

Re: Strange behaviour when deleting images from a folder
Yes, I have tried the F5 refresh function, but that does not seem to help.
Something else I also experience when I delete images is that I get a "Error deleting file" message box. I click OK, then the highlight jumps to the image below the one that should now be first in line. If I f.ex. select three images the highlight will jump to the fourth image. Also strange. I experienced this on occasion with Bibble and then only with images from my compact camera. Any connection here?
Regards
Ole

Re: Strange behaviour when deleting images from a folder
Even on a PC running Win XP, I was able to reproduce your findings!
Only when I force a refresh (using the F5 Function Key) will the original color image used for the export to NIK Silver Efex Pro 2 be preserved in ASP.
When I did not force a refresh, both, the original image used for the export to SEP2 and a newly selected other image intended for deletion both wind up in the Recycle Bin. Fortunately, realizing they are in the Recycle Bin they can be restored to the directory structure and ASP simply by clicking Restore from the Recycle Bin. Had it not been noticed that the source exported image was also deleted with the image intended for deletion, that would be like having a firearm shooting in full auto when only one shot were intended.

Re: Strange behaviour when deleting images from a folder
Some more testing performed.
The F5 refresh does not make any difference on my Mac.
The wrong image deletion only happens once after the B&W conversion with the Silver Efex has been performed. Subsequent delete commands removes the correct image only.
If right click - version - remove version, is used instead of the keyboard shortcut (fn - backspace), the correct image is deleted.
I think for the time being I will do the deleting of unwanted images within a folder first, before any B&W conversions with Silver Efex.
