Workspace Color In SP1

Post by PismoPat »

Just updated from X3 to X4. Spent an hour looking for the workspace color so I could get rid of the huge graphite box. Updated to SP1, found this forum, saw how to change the color in the files menu, and was very disappointed that the menu backgrounds changed, but not the BIG GRAPHITE BOX IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN!!! HELLO.

X3 gave us control of the colors. X4 is a big disappointment.

Yes, the menus were hard to read, but what about the big graphite elephant in the room, the workspace?

Regards from Pismo Beach.

Edwinn, Josephlin posted some examples here that you can check out

Yes, PismoPat, the MDI workspace pasteboard area (whatever you want to call it) has been a tiny point of contention since the big change. Though I think when changes were asked for the users said the background was alright to leave as it was so that might be why this was chosen. X3 didn't give you that much control over the colors anyway. The older system had some registry hacks that you could exploit but I doubt any of those are available anymore since the UI rewrite.

And considering the tool options and how horrid X3 was before all five patches...X4 isn't that big of a disappointment.
