new computer: re-installation questions:

I was hoping that the link Abiel provided gave you the correct file that would install and allow you to activate using your serial/activation number.
My only thought is that the installation file is the wrong one being the trial?

You say your version was the "download upgrade"

My version of X2 is called ESDVSPRX2IEPCPF.exe
It is the upgrade version which needs an older VS serial number to install it.

Do you have the serial number of an earlier version of Video Studio that allows authentication of your upgrade.?

The activation codes are in three parts similar to 123a6-8b000-08976543
All my Video Studio programs use this serial number format of 18 digits.

Okay, done got it!

Corel sent me a link for VS2 .. but ultinmately I needed to just do the upgrade to 4 which went smoothly, ... should have simply done that from the beginning ... not messed around wiith the earlier version which, as was pointed out to me, will not run on Windows 7 (I found that out).

VS 4 is beautiful!

When I want to reinstall COREL VS X2 on a new Computer and I now want to activate the registrated X2-version it comes the message (in german), but I am connected to the internet

"The Activation was not successful. There is no connection to the server. Please proof the connection to internet."

@lata: Your Information you gave to "mbrien" at 27.February 2012 have also no function. I think I also need the download link to x2 from corel

I searched the Corel Knowledge Base and found some information regarding Activation.

Error “Invalid Serial Number/Activation Code” when activating a trial or download for all Corel software

No, I can`t activate my registered X2-version at WINDOWS7.
The COREL-SUPPORT says, I should deactivate firewalls and anti-virus-programms, but it was without success.

Now I search for a link of a testversion of VS X4 (not X5). Do you know such a link ?
