Are you sure?
If I do only CA correction, then the red line goes continuous from one corner to the other.
But if I additionally apply lens correction, where the corners are being pushed outside the canvas, then the red line only remains in the middle part of the image because the rest is just pushed out by the lens correction. So it depends on the amount and method of lens correction, whether the line completely disappears or not.
Well - we are both right in a sense, the canvas is increased to allow space for the correction, then it is cropped to avoid the blank canvas. But some of the old boggy area will of course be inside the new image.

Done some testing now and border CA effect varies from camera model to camera model.

Don't see any on Nikon D40 and Olympus E-P1 files, see a little on Olympus E-620. On Canon 30D and 350D, the effect is very visible.

I haven't seen the tiling effect, though.

I am aware of that bug too, (in fact, two bugs).
Btw, there was exactly this behaviour in early days of Bibble5 beta, so the symptoms are well known to the old folks.
Hopefully Corel is working on the fix. Maybe there is a fixed version in the hands of betatesters, there was some noise about existence of the new build. Still I do not have information if the fix is included there.
If not - who knows? Maybe you can help to prioritize it with your reports direct to Corel.

How? Please look here for some inspiration
The link was not provided there, so here it is for your convenience. Corel ASP BugReports (via SurveyMonkey)

I found a useful workaround for that problem.
There is a PlugIn called "CAQuest" which can be found here:
http://support.bibblelabs.com/forums/vi ... 98&t=19806

Developer site:
http://www.andrewj.com/photography/plugins.asp

The author is stating on his site:
"Bibble's CA correction has an unfortunate side-effect that it currently puts a fine stripe of red or blue down one edge of the picture. CA Quest can also automatically correct for this. If "Crop Edge Pixels" is checked, then it will also set a very small crop on the image (typically about 4 pixels from each edge on an 18megapixel file). This won't override any existing crop, and you can disable the applied crop if you wish."
