I added a number of clips to a new project and then realised the result would be too long for a good quality DVD. I've edited the ones I want to retain and deleted ther others. The deleted clips all followed the edited ones.
However the space taken by the deleted ones still appears on the timeline although the clips are not on the storyboard. The project duration window still shows the original length.
How can I delete the empty space?

Re: VS9 how to remove space takenby deleted clips
Hi
Please switch the view to Timeline View, this will show all timelines…..
I am a little confused, if your clips are in the top timeline and you remove one, say from the middle, all clips to the right will move left to fill the space.
Try it using the sample library clips, add a few then remove the centre ones……
If the clips are in the overlay track then they will stay in position when removing others.
Video Studio uses several timelines, the total length of the project is determined by the last (far right) clip.
Press the word “project” to switch the view to project playback
Press the icon End (right hand facing arrow with line)
This will show the last frame in the timelines
What is in the timelines, check the title “ track “T”

Re: VS9 how to remove space takenby deleted clips
Many thanks lata. The cause was a title that I had added to one of the subsequently deleted clips. Deleting this brought the project down to the correct shorter length.
