Just installed PSP X4, a paid upgrade. Took me a couple hours to figure out what was happening, so I'll try hard to keep my fury and frustration quiet as I describe the issue.
When I opened PSP, I closed the manager window area at the bottom and switched to the Edit area, the ONLY area I want to work in. The image "highlighted" in Manage appears in the Edit area. Since it has nothing to do with what I'm about to create, I close it.
When I save an image file as a BMP for a new image I've just created from scratch, the file save brings up the file name prefilled in with the first image on the Manage list. I change it to what I wish to call it and move to the right folder for saving.
I just did 26 screen captures this way only to find out that all of them saved as the first image on the Manage list with all the different names. None of the screen captures I worked so hard annotating are anywhere on my hard drive.
Until this is resolved, I'm back to X3. I've replicated this several times, and I've been using PSP since the earliest days of the software's development, so I know how to do all this and this one has be totally stymied. Ideas?
