ProX4 - Error Message in trying to use Title Borders

Post by LGO »

Hi,

Just installed ProX4. When I make a title - either single or multiple - and try to apply a Border/Shadow/Transparency to the text, I get an error message that says . . .

"Encountered An Improper Argument"

Huh? :?

Making the title was the ONLY thing in the project.

Anyone encounter this error message before? I searched the forums for that message and if anyone has run across it they haven't posted the issue.

Appreciate any ideas.

Thanks,

LGO

Hi LGO

Well I found one reference similar to the problem you are experiencing, (I searched for “Improper”)
unfortunately did not give a positive reason or fix
http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... er#p192905

You could contact pepegota who is still active on the forum?

Can you manually update Direct X, just in case????

Download
Extract files to folder on desktop
Run DXSETUP.exe

Hi, Trevor, thanks for the reply!

Hadn't thought about updating DrirectX. Will do that tomorrow and report back what happens.

Thanks, again!

Abiel -- what on earth does a PaintShop Pro update have to do with Video Studio?

I had that problem on my old XP computer. However, my new Sandy Bridge machine does not have the problem. As to cause?

Okay, did as Trevor suggested and updated DirectX. Same result! :x

Also, I have this problem still http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... b90aa601eb that continues to drive me nuts. It's version X4 now and I still can't get titles to center on the screen. Grrrrrrr!

Between the title centering issue and the "improper argument" issued, I can't use titling at all in VS.

Thank God I've got C3DPS to fall back on - Yes, titles are centered properly using that. Hmmmm, does this mean I need to go buy Motion Studio 3D just to make titles I should be able to make in ProX4????? Geeeeez . . . :x :x :x

Have you tried updating your Direct X, that has been suggested above?
