Is it possible to do like "directors commentary" i

Post by Slothman »

I was fiddling around with the program, and I like the menu system. Just wondering if it is possible to add directors commentary over a movie? I can do it simply by putting two movies with different audio tracks, but was wondering if it was possible to initialize audio 1 or audio 2 based on selecting a menu option for commentary on or off.

thanks.

if you have another audio track with the commentary, you can setup the alternate audio to play during the movie.

You setup a menu to pick track one (normal audio), or track 2 (commentary audio track)

I've forgotten the exact steps, but it was fairly easy... I made a 2nd censored soundtrack for a couple of movies I copied from VHS. I can select the 2nd soundtrack from a menu or from my remote's AUDIO button.

Here's the tricky part - ... If I remember correctly... The 2nd (last added) soundtrack is the default. So if you don't want the commentary to play automatically when you start the DVD, you have to:

1- Strip-out the normal audio to a separate wave file. (I used Video Studio for that.)

2- Delete the "existing" audio track (your MPEG or AVI file) from Workshop's AUDIO track list.

3- Add the 2nd (commentary) soundtrack.

4- Add the normal wave file soundtrack . (Workshop would not accept my MPEG A/V file as a soundtrack file... It seems to want an audio-only file.)
