I've downloaded and tried to install the trial version of VideoStudio 9 last night, but it wouldn't install successfully. It went through the unzipping of files to a temp folder, and then it stops at the prompt where it says "insert Disc 1..." to access a file that starts with "VS1..." something. The file could not be found in the temp directory where the other files were unzipped to so, the installation failed.
Has anyone successfully installed this trial version? If you encountered the same problem I have, what did you do to resolve it?
Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I have no clue what your problem is, but FYI you can order a CD with all of the trial programs for $9. I would offer to send you a copy of my trial CD, but it's outdated (VS8). You will still need to download the user manuals.
I did have a problem with one of the Ulead trial programs... I don't remember what product or what problem...
But, when I un-installed and re-installed, it said my 30 days were up... after one day! It was a new system, so I reformatted the hard drive and started over.

Update to VS9 Trial Installation Probllem
The problem I'm encountering is when I install the downloaded VS9 trial version, it's looking for a "layout.bin" file on the directory where the installation files were unzipped to, and is not found there so the installation setup fails.
Please try following methods, this might help I think since this solution pertains to the error message:
1) Method A:
If your Operating System (OS) is Windows 2000 or XP, please try logging into the system with administration rights before installing.
1. Go to Start: Run.
2. Type C:\Download\VS9TBYB.exe (or equivalent filename) -a -deleter in the entry box.
(The"Download" folder is an assumed folder name where you saved the downloaded executable file.)
3. Press "Enter".
2) Method B: (Using Winzip, for example.)
1. Launch Winzip and "Open" VS9TBYB.exe (or equivalent filename).
(Or right click on the VS9TBYB.exe (or equivalent filename), select Winzip: Extract to)
2. "Extract" to a temp folder like C:\Temp directory.
3. Go to C:\Temp\Disk1
4. Launch Setup.exe file to install program.
3) Method C:
Run "msconfig" and disable all start-up programs, and then try again.
NOTE: This method only applies to the Win XP and Me/98 operating systems.

I've tried the methods indicated, but the installation still doesn't work. Still getting the same problem about being unable to find the "layout.bin" file. Ulead should fix the trial version so it can be easily installed.
Here's the directory where the file, layout.bin, could not be found:
C:\DOCUME~1\LYNDON~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\pft25.tmp\Program\UVS1
