Brief keyboard layout tip + BUG: Key shortcut

Post by andysalay »

The major part of this post are tips, but there are also bug/omission notices.

I have a habit from the B5 ages, that I have remapped many of key-shortuts.
I am using english keyboard layout for Bibble.
The idea is to have most editing functions available on keys for the left hand, for leaving right hand free for mouse to clicking into image and mostly right panel/sliders.
It has proved very efficient for me - I can conveniently browse images, and instantly do basic corrections without to have the hands leave their comfort positions.
I can still use left hand for CTRL+C, CTRL+SHIFT+C, CTRL+V, CTRL+Z very conveniently. I often mix it with browsing back and forth through images (X, C keys).

A: Toggle 1:1 (these are now not so important, because of the new double click functionality)
Z: Toggle fit
X: Previous image
C: Next image
V: Toggle flag as PICKED (why unavailabe toggle?) now it is just Flag as PICK
B: Toggle flag as REJECTED (why unavailabe toggle?) now it is just Flag as REJECT
the unavailable toggle Picked and toggle Rejected forces me to use ALT+C as "clear tag." (why was that removed completely? If Corel did not find its default assignment complying standards, they should just remove assignment, and let the user assign some shortcut, if he needs this command. Who was hinered by that innocent lovely shortcut?! )
Please bring it back!

editing:
space: PAN (Hand cursor)
S: Click White cursor
D: Crop cursor
F: Straightening cursor
G: Curve region (as curves are used most often by me). (you can notice S,D,F,G mapping mimicks order of ICONS on B5/ASP toolbar. So it is easily remindable.)
For additional room (to stay in left hand's reach) i use other regions on:
ALT+D: Circle
ALT+F: Polygon region Ignored in ASP! Please, help
works nice on Win7 Bibble5, does not work in ASP. Interfering with "File menu". The user should have the priority. Who is using DropDown menu in Bibble regularly as his MAIN tool?!! If dropdown menu would be my main tool, I will configure my custom shortcuts to avoid conflicts. Bibble should respect my association. I do not want to have a useless hole on my keyboard, where space on the left hand is so valueable.
ALT+G: Brush region
This layout is very slightly changed from Bibble5's, to resemble order of region tools on the dropdown, leavig G as a mainly used (so without ALT modifier)

Q - Magnifier
ALT+` key (to the left of "1") - no label works nice on Win7 Bibble5, despite "`" is the deadkey here. Unfortunately, does not work in ASP. Please, repair it!
ALT+1 (red label), ALT+2 (yellow), ... ALT+5 (purple label)

"`"`- remove star rating works nice on Win7 Bibble5, despite "`" is the deadkey here. Unfortunately, does not work in ASP. Please, repair it!
1 - one star
2 - two stars, etc... until 5

etc, etc...

My keyboard map will evolve slightly in ASP further.
I can think of TAB association, and perhaps rethink my usage frequency of E - EXIF, R - right panel, W - clipping warning away,
for making these key free for something what I use more. Maybe remap default M (Toggle multi image view to T).

Comments welcome.
