I don't understand how my statements are inconsistent? Maybe if I give more detail:

Aftershot AMD64 .deb package version 174:1.0.1.10 running on Ubuntu 12.04

Paths set in preferences:

User folder location: /curated/aftershot/config
Default catalog location: /curated/aftershot/catalogs

When I choose File->Download. Tab says "Move and Import".

Settings:
  • Destination: fixed, /curated/pictures
  • Output: custom, [vname]
  • Save in subfolder: [year]/[date]
  • Checked options: Overwrite existing output files, Delete original files
  • Import into Catalog: checked
  • Import Location: /main (Prompt unchecked, no keywords or presets)
Results:
  • Raw file is correctly moved to /curated/pictures/[year]/[date]/[vname]
  • Raw file is not physically copied into catalog
  • Catalog entries referencing imported files are created in the catalog "main" under /main/curated/pictures/[year]/[date]
  • This operation will not recurse into folders, I have to select each folder I want to import from rather than have it take all images in a tree.
What happens when I try to create a batch in hopes of gaining recursion:

Actions/settings:
  • go to the output tab
  • right click under "Batch output"
  • click "New..."
  • "Add Copy Output" from the Output dropdown
  • Tab says copy
  • Same settings as above for destination, output name and location and catalog import
  • Click JPEG tab and select "remove current output" from output dropdown
  • Hit okay to create batch
  • Right click new batch and "Process a folder (including subfolders" and select a folder with some images.
Results:
  • Raw file is correctly moved to /curated/pictures/[year]/[date]/[vname]
  • Catalog entries referencing imported files are created in the catalog "main" under /main/[date] NOT /main/[year]/[date]
  • Raw file is physically copied both into /curated/pictures/[year]/[date]/[vname] AND /curated/aftershot/catalogs/main/assets/[date]
  • When I delete the image from the catalog the copy under /curated/aftershot/catalogs/main/assets/[date] is deleted and the copy under /curated/pictures/[year]/[date]/[vname] is left behind.
  • The batch will successfully recurse into folders. The same behaviour occurs even when selecting a folder directly containing images and no subfolders.
What I expected / want to make happen, if possible?
  • Raw file is moved to /curated/pictures/[year]/[date]/[vname]
  • Raw file is not physically copied into catalog
  • Catalog entries referencing imported files are created in the catalog "main" under /main/[year]/[date]
  • This operation will recurse into folders

This is how it should work.

But I also see complete raw files being copied under the assets folder here (Ubuntu).

Time for the Monkey.

cheers
