Paintshop Pro X4 installation Problem

Post by moonempress »

I have just downloaded the trial version of Paintshop Pro X4, and for some reason it wont install.
I get to the "accept agreement" page, tick the box, and when I go to click "Next", nothing happens.
I also tried it with the trial version of Paintshop Pro X3, same problem.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can resolve the issue?

thanks in Advance

Have you tried updating the DirectX on your computer? If not you can download the latest directX at http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/window ... tx-11.aspx

You can also try and create a new windows 7 user name with admin rights and install the program from there. Since its an admin, the program should also be accessible to your original login.

Abiel -- that link just downloads DirectX 11 in its original form -- exactly the same moonempress would already have installed as part of his Windows 7 installation. The update it to the latest build of DirectX 11, you need to go to http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35 Ignore the reference to it being DirectX 9.0c. The small print makes it clear it also applies to Windows 7 and Vista.

Does this include creating a new user account on your computer with full admin rights and trying to install on that account with no other accounts logged onto your computer? To say you've done everything is a little vague. It would be much more clear if you outlined what you really have done.

Have you turned off your firewall (including verifying that your Windows Firewall hasn't turned back on which it will do with various updates from Microsoft), turned off your anti-virus and other security programs before installing? Also if you have a sandboxing program turn that off (if you don't know what that is you likely don't have that).

I have exactly same problem as you. The installation was stop at "accept agreement" step. I have tried create new account and
turn-off firewall. It still doesn't work. I have never had this problem since I have PSP. Another problem is I already paid. I think I will go ask refund.
