Registration at corel

Post by ponto »

How can one register a copy of ASP at Corel? I am asked for a serial number and a product language. I used the serial number I got via mail but the website says that the format of the serial number is wrong. How to fix this?

I'd suggest you email corel, as they don't frequent these forums much.

As you will in the free gift thread, I too have the same problem -- and I am a Site Admin, and loyal Corel user for many years...

Don't type anything on the license name text box.
Paste your serial number on serial number text box first.
Then enter anything you want on the license name.
That worked for me to get over that issue. :-)

Phone Corel. I had trouble also and in the end a quick phone call had the problem solved. Mind you Corel support didn't even know about ASP!!!!!

Type you name in the area for License Name. Then the number in the serial number box. (The serial number box should have only enough spaces for the correct entries). I'm not sure if it's case sensitive. I didn't risk it. Be also careful of mixing o's and 0's. (Oh's and zeros).

The box in the lower right should change when you have valid entries.

Regards

I think you mean the license dialog in ASP itself? I am talking about the registration form at corel. There I am only asked about the serial number and a product language.

You can find information on how to register your corel products at corel.force.com/index/articles/en_US/Master_Article/753592-Registration-Frequently-Asked-Questions

Too late the hero.. looks like you've registered ASP already.

The response I just received from Corel leaves me breathless ... and remember I am a Site Admin person!! They tell me that my problem registering -- and my serial number being "in the wrong format" is the result of an error in my purchase. That is despite the fact that I received from them my SN, which activated the program and told me at the time that it was legitimate. And every time I open ASP it repeats it is registered to me. Yet Corel tell me this is not so!! And did nothing to explain why a legitimate SN is "in the wrong format".

And on top of all that, they say my SN may as a result be "de-activated"!!! I am just so annoyed I can hardly type!!!!

Ken I have contacted an SMA from Corel and passed on yours and my dismay at the response from Corel...

The SMA is usually very good at getting action from Corel... I still cannot believe the answer they gave you. I was a beta on ASP and I cannot register either.

Sorry for all the confusion here, there are several items being discussed in this thread. Here is the current status of what were working on to remedy these problems:

1) Using the "Unlock AfterShot Pro" dialog states that the user has a “Registered Version”, this just means that the serial number is valid NOT that the product’s purchase is registered with Corel. This is effectively “How I enter my serial number” not part of the “How I register my purchase and get my free plug-in”.
2) The serial number for the product isn’t automatically registered to the users account from the eStore purchase. This is being worked on.
3) Product registration works through the main program as designed – upon the third launch it asks you to register. Users are successfully registering but, again, the serial number doesn’t show up in the corel.com account. We’re looking into this.
4) The main Corel.com site registration isn’t currently recognizing the format of the AfterShot Pro serial number. This is supposed to be a secondary way to register the product supporting the in product registration. Again, being worked on.
5) As to the Free Gift, the bounce back email from registration isn’t currently supplying the Vignette Plug-in download link, that will be fixed shortly – anyone who has registered before this gets fixed will get an email from us with the link once the fix goes live.

We'll update as these items get addressed.

The link to the Vigne Plug-In has been added to the confirmation email that you get when you register. In addition, we've sent an email with the link to all users that registered before this was added - check your email if you've already registered.
