Aftershot Pro - Large Tiff Files

Post by Mashpro »

I am comparing Aftershot Pro and Lightroom Trial Versions at the moment and have to say, that I do like the Aftershot Pro Interface more than the one from Lightroom. I also like the fact that I dont have to catalogue my pictures.

But I have noticed, when scanning negatives on my epson scanner (6400 or 9800DPI / Filesize between 100 and 300 MB TIFF), I cannot open these in Aftershot Pro. Is there a Filesize limit set for import or thumbnails? Does anybode else have the same problem?

I also think that the healing tool or the printing dialogue is not as effective/slick as in Lightroom.

On the other hand, the standard noise ninja works an absolute treat in black and white.

There is a lot to like in Aftershot Pro (2nd day Trial!!! :D )

I guess AS still has the silly 30MP limit like Bibble.
Quite annoying.

cheers

I'll have to do some testing, but Tiffs with alpha channels weren't recognized (Which became really annoying when I'd forget to flatten layers before saving).

How does the speed compare?

Speed!

From my trials so far! I think there is no real difference between Lightroom and Aftershot when it comes to loading files (apart from the tiff problem) or moving sliders and applying changes etc.
