1. non-destructive edits - even for JPEG! No one does it - even LR modifies the original file.

ASP 2.1 just worked with linux without problems and had plugins. Sad but ASP 2.2 doesn't work with Ubuntu 14.04.2 with drag and drop to output and no plugins. Ya all need to work on plugins as they make ASP usable. Without plugins time to looks for another linux raw converter program, maybe LightZone 4.1.

Using the Download batch process I can copy images from my flash card to my file system, selectively, eliminating the lousy shots before they take up space on my drive.

I love the UI, which like Aperture, puts all the functions at your fingertips without the frustrating modality of Lightroom.

I find that auto levels and Perfectly Clear are not so hot for my image files, but the raw conversion, the other controls, including expecially fill light, are very good.

Love this program and here's why:

• non-destructive editing (which still seems too good to be true, to a long-time PP user!)
  program speed and stability (though, after working fine for months, I had problems with OpenGL and had to deactivate it)
  clean interface layout and appearance
  multi-monitor support (able to "float" control panels to another monitor and increase size of image editing area)
  plugins

Just using it has helped to educate me and I am taking better pictures as a result.

I'm a hobby photographer (meaning I shoot just for fun). I cannot justify paying monthly fees for Adobe products. My post processing needs are not that high, I just correct a color here and there, play a bit with exposure and of course noise reduction and sharpness. I really love the fact that Aftershot 3 Pro offers anything I need so I don't even have to work with pixel editors like Photoshop or Gimp.

On the other hand what I don't like is Aftershot's heavy dependency on plugins. I'd prefer if Corel added more tools natively. The reason for this is obvious: We depend on those plugins being constantly updated. A developer disappears and we lose the functionality of that specific plugin.

This topic should have been named 'What do you really dislike about ASP.

Linux support of course is very very nice, but what's the use of a program with Linux support if there are so little improvements, bug fixes and new camera profiles added????

I follow several sites with news about Nikon and Fuji cameras, and they frequently report about lots and lots of new camera profiles added continuously by ALL raw converters..... except by Corel / ASP. That's a fact. When Corel adds one profile in one time period, others add 10 or 20 or even 30 new profiles.

Unless this changes and they follow the update frequency of other raw converters, it is very logical to assume ASP is as good as dead.

Work flow
My NAS is visible on the MAC version (this is lacking in other programs for whatever reason)
I can catalog or not, whenever. Nice because I can work with my recent photos on my local drive, then when I transfer to the NAS I can import to the catalog for later retrieval if needed. This was a big plus vs other programs.
