- Olympus EM1 support
- MUCH better demosaicing (the results with the Oly EM5 are just awful!)
- MUCH better sharpening (see above)
- shadow lifting by tone mapping (similar to what lightroom does with the shadows slider)
- better noise reduction
- but, first of all, I'D LOVE TO HAVE A NEW VERSION (after all these years)

YES. I personnaly don't care about 2.0. An 1.X fixed would be a nice reborn.
Darktable 3. Bye bye aftershot.

My list of features I would like to have in AfterShot Pro is;

KEYWORDS

1. Keyword synonyms - Just like how Lightroom does it. The great thing is that synonyms don't appear in your keywords list, but helps you find the right keyword when searching. I this way you can have a very easy to manage keyword hierarchy while still having a very rich list of keywords. Sometimes there's several different ways to spell the same thing, so you could list the different spelling alternatives in the synonym list for that keyword. When searching, you will find your keyword much easier. Another use is for animals, plants and insects that has a common name and a scientific name, or for using different languages. http://www.photo-keywords.com/keyword-list-synonyms.php

2. Import/export - Building good keyword hiearchies and lists takes time and structure. To be able to import/export directly from AfterShot Pro would vastly improve the user experience, and just like plugins or presets, good keyword lists could be shared and/or sold. If you have Lightroom you can purchase professional built keyword lists for different uses. For instance; Birds of northern Europe, European Cities and Regions...

GRADIENT AS SELECTION TOOL

1. Gradient as Selection Tool - While the gradient plugin has it's advantages, it also has it's shortcomings. Most significantly, you are limited to only using a, black, white or colored overlay. Many times I use this tool, I would also want to use other ajustments as well for the gradient selection. Actually, there should be a gradient selection tool in the Layers panel. If you use Lightroom or Photoshop to convert you raw images, you have the ability to apply gradient selections where you can apply your ajustments. AfterShot Pro has different selection tools where you can use all of the ajustments you want for your image. If it only had the ability to use gradient selections as well, the program would solve many issues I have when editing my images. So...Please make a gradient selection panel inside the Layers panel !!!

CROPPING
There are several annoying shortcomings to the Cropping panel.

1. Keep-Within Edge - When I use the Straighten feature and choose Cropping, I often find myself wanting a different center for the cropping tool than dead center. When I move the cropped area it's completely impossible to not have some grey canvas getting into one of the corners without making the cropped area smaller. If there was a Radio Button for keeping the crop tool within the edges it wound improve my user experience with the tool significantly.

2. Clone into canvas - When using the Straighten tool I sometimes wish that there was something more in one of the corners. The ability to include som of the canvas in one or more of the corners could come in handy and rescue a too-tight composition when I also had to fix the horizon. If I would be able to clone something from the picture and include it on the corner that had some of the canvas (within the limits of crop tool) it would really save me from going through Photoshop or other image editing software to fix the image. It should be easy to implement as AfterShot will include the grey canvas in the corners if it's rotated.

AFTERSHOT FORUM - PRESETS
There should be a Sub-Section where users could exchange presets. The "Tips, Tricks and Results" is too cluttered with other things. You simply cannot browse through pages upon pages of posts to find your nuggets of gold.
A dedicated section to this forum where users can experiment and exchange their presets should be done yesterday..!!!

There are several other areas of improvement to AfterShot Pro, but I feel that these described above is the most significant to me now. I hope they are being taken seriousely...

Well, that section would be less cluttered if people had discipline. What makes you think yet another subforum would work any better in that regard?

Webspace is cheap. Set up a moderated Wiki for it ;-)

The problem with that section is that it's too general, hence the problem with discipline.

My view is that Presets has many resemblances with Plugins in the regard that both is enhancements for AfterShot. The main difference is that where Plugins require more programming knowledge and technical skills, Presets can be made by anyone that uses AfterShot. Exchanging Presets between users will not only enhance the user experience with AfterShot for each and anyone, but also enhance the value of AfterShot itself. If you look around the internet you will find Presets and Actions for Lightroom and Photoshop all over the place. In the good old time of Bibble, we also had many Presets being shared. You can argue to the worlds end about pro's and con's about the many sub-sections on the Bibble forum, but some of the sub-sections was doing very well. The Corel approach (after the takeover) was initially to have everything into the same main forum without any sub-sections. How are you going to demand discipline where there is no structure? At least there are some sub-sections in the forum now, but in the general ones you correctly see all and everything pop up. If you have a more narrow and dedicated sub-section where the participants can find their nuggets of gold, the community will regulate itself and give their comments if any participants diviates too much from the forums topic. I'm quite sure that this isn't going to be a big issue for a dedicated forum sub-section.

I don't know how to set up a Wiki, but in general I can say that the page or forum sub-section must be just as easy accessible for the users of AfterShot Pro as the Plugin page is today, which is located directly within the AfterShot part on the Corel website. This is why I thought that a dedicated sub-section on this forum would be better suited, as the sharing of Presets is a more fluid process than for Plugins.

Setting up something somewhere isn't the solution if it's not linked directly from the AfterShot homepage or actually being a part of this forum. A Preset exhange place MUST be placed within the Corel/AfterShot ecosystem, wether it's a moderated page or a dedicated sub-section within this forum.

A checkbox to maintain aspect ratio would be nice when resizing.

That already exists. Resizing happens according to bounding box, ratios are kept automatically.

I would love to use the software but after reading the various forum and online posts, it seems that my camera will never be supported
(nikon d3300) It's a real shame as I love the layout and physical design of the software, but when other companies
actually support their product then I had better go with their product and not corel.

Thanks for letting me post my opinion
