photoalexis wrote:Option to re-edit a TIFF or JEPG file. Obviously the non-destructive features of ASP is great and important, but since I use various NIK tools, every time I want to gdo an additional step, I have to create an additional output file (TIFF). In Lightroom, you have the option of editing the file you have or to create a new file to edit.

I can do this now with version 1.1.0.30 ;-)
You can have version of it as well.
Still learning after all these years!

High MP support (D800)

Post by AndiB »

Wile working with regions on large MP files (D800 36MP) I often run into the problem that the sizes and fall-off ranges for regions are too limited!
Please allow larger pixel counts here!

Why does the updates takes that long? I'm really dissapointed, and I think a will move to other software.

PS. Adding new Olympus cameras (EPL5 and EPM2) is easy, cause the algoritm od ORF files is the same that in OMD EM5 which is supported by AS.

What he said. I have a number of JPGs (the result of scans), the size of which is in excess of 45MB - these ASP won't even allow to be entered into the catalog, let alone processed. So, I'm having to resort to some Adobe product. Not good.

Thanks

Group multiple images and combine them in one exported image. It will save time for processing multi-shot images like landscape/HDR, startrails, sport sequences from tripod....
Combine methods (easiest way is probably add special layer type with alpha mask for image and combine method):
layer mask
combine method (lighter, darker, opaque, average).

P.S. - Please make support for new cameras No. 1 priority. Canon 1D X was announced in October 2011 and you still don't support it. You are forcing users to stop using your SW if they use Windows/Apple, or limit camera choice for Linux users.

An easy way to delete layers from a series of pictures, without having to select each one and trash its layer(s).

RAW support for the NEX-5R would be nice.

All I want in ASP is NR equivalent to LR4.x..

I own a Sony A77 (24MP) that has quite poor in-camera pre-processing of RAW (lots of red channel noise), and ASP struggles with the noise at high ISO.. but when I trialled LR4.3, I was amazed how well it handles this camera, it's Chroma NR is superb, it seems to have been tweaked for this camera as it subdues the red channel noise exceptionally well and if I compare LR to ASP on some ISO6400 shots I did at a wedding, I was forced to go B&W with ASP to get something acceptable, but with LR, I was able to clean it up and keep it in colour..

Other then that, I find ASP a joy to use, exceedingly fast, and I love things like being able to set white points so easily (LR struggles with this), which I use when doing high-key work in my home studio..

At the export form I would like to have the option to export the original file insted of just reprocessed JPEG or TIFF. I am working a lot with Fuji JPEG files and often I just want to export the unedited files, but I have to recompress the JPEGs which gives me files twice as large as the original files. Not mentioned the loss in image quality at this step...

Just create a copy queue, all you need is already there.
Use the download queue as an example.

cheers

Cool, thank you very much for the tipp! Found the option you ment in Batch Output, have to play a bit with it to understand it, normally I use Export via context menu, but seems to do the job :)

Just create a custom queue and assign it a hot key ;-) Much faster than to context menus.

Please implement lens distortion and CA correction for ORF format (Olympus, Panasonic...). ORF files already include distortion and CA correction data (for the particular Micro 4/3 lens used) and there is no need to create and maintain empirical Micro 4/3 lens correction database.

Thank you!
