Add user-selected scroll-wheel action on the image grid —at the moment, it’s opposite sense to many common programs. (e.g., on Microsoft programs, scolling mouse wheel away from you scrolls up—On B5 thumbnail grid it’s the opposite. On ASP it scrolls downward regardless of wheel direction and sometimes doesn’t scroll at all. Scroll should be enabled on ASP, but with direction settable by user so it’s the Bibble-standard direction or the Microsoft-standard direction.

Give a way to open any multiple tabs at once, e./g/, metadata and standard

Offer the full Perfectly Clear plug-in

Add white-balance control for JPEGs &c. It may not be as good as it is for RAW, but would still be useful.

Make the name of the image you're editing more noticeable=-=-maybe boldface?

Add the grid when Straighten is in use.

Add an easy way to watermark images and export-to-JPG simultaneously

Bring back the rotation arrows on thumbnails

Gray out all controls that are not currently workable, such as the white-balance slider when you're working on JPEGs.

ADD MULTI-SCREEN CAPABILITIES, so you can move tool palettes to a separate display (as B5 did).

Do you mean "as B5" or "as B4"? If "B5" then just go to View->Toolbars->Float Tools Panel. A B4 like behavior would be my wish too ...

Here's a good wish:

How about a 64 bit compile for each platform? Most people appear to be using 64 bit machines now. :)

Oh yes, here is another wish, that I've been wishing for a long time... though it may be only a snowball's-chance-in-a-very-warm-place that this would happen, it would be increadibly useful to me...

I would *love* it aftershot could read psd files (if even if only in a read-only, flattened fashion). My workflow starts in ASP, and typically ends in photoshop, and I cannot use the catalog function in ASP because it does not read the final product of my work. Saving muli-layered images in in tiff doesn't always work right, and they are way too bloated. If ASP could render even a reasonably accurate, read-only version of a psd, then I could use keywords and use ASP to catelogue my work.

just a few words of wisdom here: given the fact that photoshop files are not really the gold standard in archivability and can easily contain things a newer version wont be able to read (been there) i always save PSDs with max compatibility OFF (that option only saves a flat tiff inside extra anyway) to safe some safe disk-space and then waste it again by saving a real (flat) TIFF alongside the PSD. which in turn can easily be read by ASP if it is RGB. works great to even output small versions or do a slight edit, conversion to monochrome or other nice ad-hoc adjustments..
but then.. i rarely open photoshop these days..

Better keyword manager:
- A-Z sorting
- autocompletion of the keywords
- bigger space for the keyword, now we have to scroll it.

Thx

I'm sure these have been asked for a million times!

1. Clarity adjustment , I have to post process this in PSP X4, I do a lot of weddings and finding clarity works superbly at adding definition to complex white objects like dresses/flowers

2. Unsharp Mask sharpening that is adjustable for each output preset. With 24MP images, I find that I have to apply different sharpening levels depending on output size, or images look soft when downsized, despite being pixel sharp at 1:1

3. An automated 'lens profiler' with simple import of image and dragging around of lines to set geometry etc..

That's about it!

I appreciate your words of wisdom grubernd, but that is not a solution for me. I already have to keep multiple copies of the file, and it is difficult to manage as manipulating one gets everything out of sync. It wastes a lot of time and increases margin for error.

I know it wouldn't be that difficult to make something that can read, even in the most primitive way, a psd file -- just for the purposes of tagging and categorizing. I wouldn't be so audacious as to suggest having ASP manipulate the content of psd files.

So, my wish still stands! Please consider supporting psd files (just for tagging and cataloging purposes).

Thanks :)

Use Wavelet Sharpen, no need for another step outside AS.

Read the docs on the batch queues and apply appropriate post processing USM in the queue.

Just do it.
AS can load custom profiles.

Stacking - HDR and Focus

Post by derouyag »

I know Aftershot Pro already has a type of stacking but that is for grouping of like photos.

I would like to see HDR photo stacking and Focus Stacking. Say in the output area, select ## of shots and drop on "HDR Stack" which outputs to a 16-bit TIFF file (???) Same thing for Focus Stacking.

Or maybe where you have "Batch Output" and "Printing", you could have "Stacking" as well with the options for output.

Example:
Stacking - 16-bit TIFF, 8-bit TIFF, Download, Gallery, JPEG Full Size, JPEG Proof

After selecting the output method, a form pops up asking if this is an HDR or Focus type of stacking.

I'd like to see a plugin to support FTP/uploading to a webhost (IE - Picasa, a Piwigo site, a Gallery site, etc.) and to interface with the default email client to email images. Make it so it resizes the images to the user's specs before uploading. This is a feature of DigiKam and it's great!

both should totally work with the BatchQs and the "Post Processing" options.
at least for email and ftp - closed webhosts with specialized stuff might not apply.
