Something is severely hosed on your box....

This and the mention of a different behavior between the settings menu and the shortcut ave seems to be an indication something is not right on your machine.

Steve is probably using Windoze which is hozed anyway! Only joking I use it sometimes.

Every platform has behavioural quirks and since I work on all three I sometimes think I am going mad due to these small inconsistencies!
We do need to be aware that ASP doesnt behave the same on Windows,Mac and Linux.

While it is important to retain these two pieces of metadata for the image;
bopt:Date="specific time and date information"
bopt:DigitizedDateTime="specific time and date information"
I think that in many cases metadata should NEVER be overwritten but I will say that if needs be then needs must and so it should be a super multi-key event to make sure it really is desired e.g. Shift+Ctrl+Alt+R as an example.

You can use a Texa, Typewriter or zText event in your output queue as well ;-)

Bibble 5 had a feature to allow some flexibility in the creation of folders created within the catalogue - those options seem to have been taken out, and the default we're left with is a bit odd - creating unwanted folders for some (but oddly not all) parts of the path. The whole point I want to use the catalogue is so I don't have to drill down a file system hierarchy to find my files (see screenshot attached).
Agree.

This whole catalogue thing is just unusable mess now.

This is the only reason for me not to switch from B5 right now...
Unfortunately I tend to agree with this statement.
I really do think that we need to have a webinar/webconference call to trash out over a long period (many hours) what needs removing and what need modifying/changing, what needs enhancing etc....
The Catalog part of ASP is weak..... The version in LR is better but still weak, look at a product like iMatch (http://www.photools.com) and you really see where we need to be. This has a scripting interface to allow custom queries and updates to the catalog, etc....... Plus point and shoot searching and querying. Unfortunately it only runs on Windows.

Ability to undock and move interface elements
Local Contrast Enhancement
A DAM to rival ACDSee, iMatch, and all the others that are far better than ASP
File level information in the Metadata tab, including embedded color profile
Native ability to upload to major photo sharing sites, including but not limited to SmugMug
Synchronization of the directories on the hard disk with catalogs
Ability to reset adjustment sliders with a single click

No, never again. That lead to way too many problems and confused users in Bibble.
The current solution is perfect.

Hi DocBrown;

Actually, I specified COLOR SPACE not WORKING SPACE. See afx reply here-> http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 50#p239970

As I'm pretty quickly working out this program, I'm merrily cataloging the recent family trip with star ratings, and keywords. All very useful. It dawns on me that the purpose of all this cataloging is to make a grab bag of different slideshows.
....Then I get to the slideshow component of ASP. .... Very dismal. Can't this be saved to a USB stick and plugged into a tv? Can't it have transitions betweens slide, music maybe. Powerpoint can, even Picassa has a few handy options. Couldn't we have a more 'featured' slideshow component?
Apart from that, let me give 5 stars to Corel for selecting Bibble as their workflow manager. It's useability is second to none. After 'trialling' Nik Silver Effex, I only wish for more plug ins for B&W reproduction in ASP because this is one very good program. Nik is very good, (with it's 'fine tuning', 'structure' and 'selective adjustment system' but the Corel plugins work seamlessly with ASP. Perhaps I'll have to learn programming.

It appeared in v5.2.3 of Bibble & is in ASP in the RAW Noise tool in the Details tab.
Ahhh... I see the hot pixel correction now. Odd name, but I can work with that. What about the sensor dust correction? That worked really well in B4.

Improvement to presets:
1. Ability to include layers in presets. For example I have a layer with two circles that adjust for red eyes. I can copy and paste the layer, but that means I need to browse for an image with the layer the next time I need it. If it can be copied and pasted it should be possible to include it in a preset.

2. Update preset option! Sometimes I create a preset. Then later I want to do some adjustments to it. The only option I have found is to recreate a new preset. Wouldn't it be great if I could just adjust the settings, right click the preset and select "update preset". The presets selected values could then be updated with the ones from the current imager.

3. Edit presets! I want to be able to edit my presets. Currently I can only view the preset settings.

Keyword sets:

1. I have an export button. Where is the IMPORT button? Do I have to recreate my keywords from Bibble? I have exportet them but can't import...

I forget just how B4 worked (it has been that long since I used it) but that is dealt with by layers - in particular the Heal/Clone layer (you can only have 1).

This is added, unsurprisingly, by clicking on the "+ Heal/Clone" button in the Layer Manager (button to open is at the top right just to the left of where it says "Main Layer" in cases you've not found it yet). Circles can be used to heal or clone, polygon and curve regions can only be used to clone, the brush tool is not available in the Heal/Clone layer.

Regards

Rick.

A tiny request...

When mirroring a cropped image, could you please make it mirror the crop to. It's just weired the way it works now. I have to adjust the crop when I mirror an image.

A keyword exclusion option would be nice, Example - Refine with ability to exclude the selected keyword or words. Also it would be nice to be able to have multiple file edit choices instead of just one with "EDIT WITH EXTERNAL VIEWER" with the ability to choose file type to create tiff or jpg etc.

ShortCut Keys Quick View Overlay

Post by Rob Greenstein »

I may have posted this previously, but even if I did...

Some means of quickly viewing the Shortcut Keys as opposed to venturing into the Preferences to display the shortcut keys list.

Something akin to the ease afforded by the method Lightroom provides. A simply Ctrl + / displays a translucent quick glance of the Shortcut Keys pertinent for the current module in use.
