this is default behaviour of all sliders in ASP.
if you find a slider that doesnt work that way, you have found a bug!
Bibble since 2004. Aftershot until 2020. From then on darktable.

In the color Tab -> color correction, the Sliders for Saturation, Luminance etc. sometimes get stuck. (ie. wont reset to 0)

[quote="marbly"][quote="bifffa"]I don't think this is a bug.
Using your example:
LH Pane:
People
..Friends
....Bill
....Cathy

RH Pane:
People (click + and type this in)
..Friends (Drag these from the LH pane)
..Bill
..Cathy

On the RH pane there are only two levels so the set name would be "people" and under people you can (if you want) drag
Friends
Bill
Cathy

select an image and click "Friends" and the image will be tagged "People;Friends"
if you selected Bill instead it will be tagged "People;Friends;Bill"

You may find you don't want "Friends" as an option in the right pane and just want the actual names, if you just drag the names across to the right the same hierarchy remains becuase that is what is set on the left hand pane.

The easiest way it to just create some sets on the right and drag various items from different groups on the left and experiment with them

A small UI bug? to fix in the future...
If you remove the check marks from these toolbars - Turn them off,
only the "Top Toolbar" off state is remembered for the next program launch.
Thumbnail Zoom Toolbar & AfterShot Pro Toolbar will come back with a fresh launch.

View > Toolbars > Top Toolbar
View > Toolbars > Thumbnail Zoom Toolbar
View > Toolbars > AfterShot Pro Toolbar

Thank you, bifffa! I tried what you suggested and it does work so that is great. I am puzzled why this rather confusing and strange UI is used though. Of course, confusing and strange UI features can be ameliorated somewhat with careful documentation and explanation, but that is lacking a bit too. Mostly I am just glad it works though! I will report to Corel the issue and maybe they can add to the documentation and explain why hierarchical keyword lists are collapsed in the right pane of the Keyword Manager and also in Keyword Sets, but they are actually not collapsed internally and are remembered properly. Thanks again!

Matthew B wrote: Having just bought my upgrade as a long-time Bibble user, I generally think things are off to a good start, except with importing into the catalogue.

Bibble 5 had a feature to allow some flexibility in the creation of folders created within the catalogue - those options seem to have been taken out, and the default we're left with is a bit odd - creating unwanted folders for some (but oddly not all) parts of the path. The whole point I want to use the catalogue is so I don't have to drill down a file system hierarchy to find my files (see screenshot attached).
Agree.

This whole catalogue thing is just unusable mess now.

This is the only reason for me not to switch from B5 right now...

Tried to read all the comments and not seen any about the externally edited filenames....

Why we need that crapy name?
The old and good and meaningfull _V[2-9] "filename extension" was not good for that too?

one thing would be wonderful to have is for layer selection.
Right now we have various brushes, but what is missing an option to select based on tone or color.

The flexibility of rough brushing a selection area then refining it based on tone/color etc would be class leading.
old Bibble user
Hmm is that (old) Bibble user or (old Bibble) user?

One of the excellent plugin developers for b5 had one called "Lay".

If that's what you need perhaps he'll be reworking it for ASP.

Here's what it looks like: http://www.kbarni.net/lay1.html

Bibble 4 hot hot pixel correction and sensor dust (spot) fixing, among other things, those never appeared in B5. Now I've paid again for an upgrade and still don't see that ability. At what point will we have all features of B4 back?

It appeared in v5.2.3 of Bibble & is in ASP in the RAW Noise tool in the Details tab. To quote Jeff on the Bibble forums:-
Jeff wrote:RAW Noise Suppression
There is one new control on the Basic tool panel, and several on the Details -> Sharpen & Noise panel. The Details panel controls are as follows:
  • Raw Impulse Noise Removal - turning this on tells Bibble to look for stuck or dead pixels and remove them - not just those due to defective photosites on sensors, but also due to high ISO noise. Some cameras, like newer Canon's, show a lot of this type of noise starting around ISO 800.
  • RAW Noise - this is a "RAW Level" denoising process before demosaicing. Checkbox turns it on or off, slider controls strength (really just blending back the original).
  • Threshold - Tells Bibble how much noise there is, or where the signal to noise ratio is. Use higher settings for noisier images. It's already biased by image settings (ISO), so it expects ISO 3200 to be noisier than ISO 100.
Note also that you can't do 'RAW Noise' without also doing Impulse Noise Removal (but you can do Impulse removal without doing RAW Noise.

For this whole RAW noise stuff, our aim is NOT to do away with Noise Ninja. In fact, the pair should work really well together.
Regards

Rick.

Any chance for some Auto Correction / detection, when you put a "color target" in your picture?
