Re: AfterShot Pro - Wishlist for future versions
My wishlist:
- Decent cataloguing (like Bibble 5)
- More subtle highlight correction
- Andrea film simulation plugin from Sean M. Pucket
- Purple fringes removed (especially when highlights are corrected)
Especially the current cataloguing is a disaster, and keeps me from actually using AfterShot.

Re: AfterShot Pro - Wishlist for future versions
ASP should acknowledge image files it can't display, such as video files (nearly all digital cameras shoot these, now) and RAW files it cannot yet decode--at the very least by showing the file name and, better, showing any embedded thumbnails, too.

Re: AfterShot Pro - Wishlist for future versions
Please add support for the RAW files from the Canon PowerShot S100. It apparently is different from the one for the S90.

Thank you grubernd and afx that is awesome!
Re: AfterShot Pro - Wishlist for future versions
It would be nice to have
+ improved cataloging and DAM in general
+ side by side compare view of the original (with croping) and edited image
+ RAW+JPEG grouping
+ multi-monitor support (or the ability to dock the layers, filter, history or to undock current tabs, sidebars)
+ some sort of quick selection album
)
//edited
+ when double clicking an image in "thumbnail view" to got to "image view" the image losses focus. If I press arrow keys it doesn't move to previous or next image, instead the focus is on left sidebar. This would also be nice if it could get fixed.

I would like to be able to create albums. Think of albums like a normal folder, but instead of actually containing the image/version like a regular folder, the album folder contains references to images/versions already stored in different folders. For example, for a vaction that lasts several days I will have one folder containing pictures for each day. But to make viewing easy I will want to create an album containing some photos (but not all of them) from each vacation day. And when I make an adjustment to one of the photos, this adjustment should naturally be immediately visible in the album as well.

Re: AfterShot Pro - Wishlist for future versions
Every time I read this request I am confused: this is already possible using keywords. They can be hierarchical and can be seen as virtual folders or albums.bos wrote:quadrox wrote: 3) Albums

Re: AfterShot Pro - Wishlist for future versions
Of course you can, but I prefer not to use keywords to make slideshow groups, portfolio selection, the best of 2011 album and so on. The keywords would sooner or later start to overlap so I would need to write really long ones like summer_pariz_2011_slideshow, summer_2011_toprint. I would use search but it's not yet that powerful and selecting multiple keywords is not something a look forward toChrisC wrote:Every time I read this request I am confused: this is already possible using keywords. Well it comes down to how you organize your images, so I understand that to some it's really not that useful.

Re: AfterShot Pro - Wishlist for future versions
use hierarchical keywords
i.e.
Holiday;2011;Paris
and for the "best of" just change it into
Holiday;2011;Paris;best of
so if you filter for Holiday;2011;Paris you see all of them, if you filter for Holiday;2011;Paris;best of you get your favorites
or just use Holiday;2011;Paris and mark the best of with a color, or as pick, or whatever you like

In addition, I find Star Ratings work very well (and they are visible externally for other programs)spoilerhead wrote:use hierarchical keywords
I would use them to 'fine tune' your best selection - easily changing from 5 to 4 stars or whatever as you review your album
without any changes to the keywords.

Need Right Click PopUp Menu on Main Image View!
I just noticed that there is no Right Click Context Sensitive Menu implemented on the main image view! There are numerous features that would be great to have a Right Click away. Things like a hot key shortcut choice, export to editor submenu of several programs, and many if not most of the features otherwise accessible via the task of moving the cursor to the Menu Pulldown area or if you know the shortcut keys.
Although nearly a sub application in itself, perhaps this could be started by allowing users via the Presets Shortcuts key system to populate their own features on the Right Click menu system. At least for Windows Applications the Right Click method is an very common feature.

Re: AfterShot Pro - Wishlist for future versions
- Dual Monitor support (Undock and move interface elements). Really support of two windows so preview panel could be dedicated to one monitor, might be better and easier to program/manage.
- Catalog that works
- The user interface not as sharp (windows, tool bars, fonts) @ 2560x1440?
- Linux version of PSP?
- Complete Plugin Manager (Add/Remove/Activate/Deactivate/Sort/Online-Update)
- Better masking tool
- Files greater than 30Mb
- The option to “continue editing boxcar or create new version”, when opening image would be helpful. This solves the difference problem with B5 & ASP and would support multiple raw processors.
- A real AfterShotPro web site that you can find
Thank you Ken for adding Linux.
