PSP X4 Materials Palette

Post by Muriel »

Good Morning..

Whenever PSP X4 is restarted, the Materials Palette reverts to factory defaults. All the saved colours I have used are lost, and the background/foreground are both black.

Is there an option that can override this so it remembers the last settings? My workspace has been customized and properly saved in every aspect except the Materials Palette. It always reverts back to default settings.

Many thanks,
Muriel!

Could be a problem with your workspace. You may want to reset your workspace....

You can do that by pressing and holding down the SHIFT key then double-click on the PSP icon then when you received the message "DO YOU WANT TO RESTORE PAINTSHOP Pro TO ITS DEFAULT STATE?" just click OK.

Of course any customization that you made will be removed after resetting your workspace.

Good Evening, Abiel Corel NA!

Thank-you for your reply.

This has taken on a diabolical life of its own, I swear!

I reset the work area to default settings, closed and restarted the program, and BINGO! The Materials Palette had not defaulted to its default settings! However, immediately after the Get Started screen loaded, the program froze. I closed it from Task Manager, then restarted it again.. did that at least four times. I rebooted my computer and tried one more time to open it, and guess what! It froze again, immediately after the Get Started screen loaded. Repeated this a few more times.

Finally, I opened the Add/Remove folder, chose the program and clicked on REPAIR. It uninstalled and then reinstalled itself, without customizations of course, and now everything seems to have sorted itself out, at least as far as I can tell. I am sure there will be a glitch or two, but for the moment I am one HAPPY LADY! :D

The only remaining issue is that I cannot get pictures to into the Organizer trays.. I shall have to mess with until I get it to work.

Many thanks again to you and others who shared their time and expertise to help walk me through this.

Muriel!
