How to open DMP files?

Ok, just got this email from a colleague with steps on how to open .dmp file. I'm posting this for those who really want to know how to open .dmp file that generated when an error or problem with VideoStudio happens.

1. You may download the Debugging Tools for Windows from here: http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symb ... .1.404.msi

Disclaimer 2: Since the program is from Microsoft, any question about the Debugging Tools needs to directed to them.

2. Install it on your computer and then launch windbg.exe from the Start Menu.

3, Then, Click on FILE >> Open Crash Dump and browse for a *.DMP file that you would like to open.

4. Once you open the DMP file, you should now be able to view its content.
