Last night I tried rendering my project to MPEG4 1920 x 1080. It's just over 4 minutes long and has anti shake filters applied and took over 40 minutes to render. My computer has an ATI Radeon HD 4250 integrated graphics chip.
Today I installed a new video card (NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 1024MB DDR3) to try to get better performance with GPU accelerated video rendering. I went into the settings screen and turned on hardware accelerated encoding and decoding and then rendered the video. It took about the same time, still finishing in over 40 minutes.
I ran the GPU Observer gadget (http://blog.orbmu2k.de/sidebar-gadgets/ ... bar-gadget) while running the render and it was showing the GPU and VPU on 0% - 1% load. With hardware acceleration enabled I would have thought this would be much higher.
Why am I not seeing any improvement in rendering performance?
How to get GPU performance increase in VideoStudio Pro X4?
