There has been dicussion in the past about renaming and renumbering images ,sometimes other software was recommended.
If any one does not already know, there is a way to do this in windows from XP and beyond.It may be a bit basic, but if you keep the same name for a batch of images you can easily number them sequentially, I have numbered over 900 images in a few seconds.
In XP- Select all the images you want numbered.
Right click the 1st one and select rename
Name the image and type a number you wish to start with in brackets ( )immediately after the name
Click on the 1st image and all your images will be numbered sequentially.
If you want to use more images later in this way you can follow on with the next number to have a continuing sequence.

Thanks for that usfull tip numbering in Windows xp . just what i needed as i was about to start a 900 frame re-number job last night.
