Hi,
I have VSX3 and will upgrade to VSX4 if this will be better for my for this request. I want to be able to do a fade in and Fade out of two videos. Is this possible. Videos were shot on a 5DMk2 as Mov. files 25fps 1920x1080 and are of a Morning shot and a Day shot. Shot on a tripod, same position and lens. Motor driven pan both at same speed, direction and overlapped for a transition of the two to make an approx. 20 sec video.
Want to make a HD DVD, Pal.

Hi Phillip
Not sure I understand just what you are trying to create, but
The Fade transition is the most basic transition used
With both clips in the timeline drag the CrossFade between the clips.
Adjust the digital clock to set the duration, or simply drag the yellow handles.
But you mention “direction and overlap” the Fade transition does not have “direction”
-----------------------
If you require the individual clips fading In-Out then there is a fade to black transition.
Or add a colour clip then apply CrossFade.
------------------------
Other options
Overlay track
Drag the clip to the overlay track, right click the preview screen, select fit to screen then keep aspect ratio,
Under the Attributes tab choose Directions and style for fades.
Adjust the duration by dragging the Pause Duration handles, immediately below the preview screen.
---------------------
Picture in Picture filter can be set to perform a multitude of effects.
