Italian Editor Software

Post by Muriel »

Good Evening!

I am having an issue with Italian Editor plug-ins. When I click to open an Italian Editor plug-in it is blank, as though it does not see the image. Then ten seconds later the program crashes.. Poof!

When I first installed this program I had the same issue with Van Der Lee snowflake and the MuRa plug-ins, but managed to sort them out. I am at a loss with the Italian Editor plugins, and would welcome any advice or suggestions.

Many thanks,
Muriel!

What version of PSP are you using? Are you getting any error message?

Since there are a lot of reason why this happens, so providing more information will surely help us determine the main problem.

Thanks!

Hi..

OOh dear! I should have made that clear! I am using PSP Version X4. These plug-ins work flawlessly in Versions X2 and X3.. the only one giving me grief is X4.

There is no error message. The plug-in window opens as though it is going to work, but the space for the image is blank. Then within ten seconds, the program simply crashes.. vanishes suddenly and totally.

Many thanks for your reply,

Muriel!

Good Evening, J. Stanley!

I too have that plugin.dll in my System 32 folder. I installed it years ago, so perhaps I should check to see if there is a later version..

Many thanks for your reply.. I shall check that out.

Thank-you, TStanley!

I found a workaround, albeit a bit awkward.. For others with this issue, this is what worked for me:

I copy/pasted the Italian Editor FILES, not the FOLDER, into the Filter Meister folder. I have had it for years but never needed it before this, but it can be downloaded from here: www.filtermeister.com

Good Luck to others struggling with this.

Good Evening, JStanley!

As always, thank-you for your reply.

That .dll file is rightly and properly installed in my System 32 folder; has been for years.

It does indeed seem to work for me.. I just have to be very careful to not click on the the Italian Editor folder, given that the Auto Save feature has been disabled in Version X4. That moment of inattention will crash the program every time. I do not wish to remove Italian Editor folder from my plug-in folder because this path works with the other versions. Only Version X4 is giving me grief.

A very curious aspect of my Version X4 is that when it first loads, it sees no plugins at all: No Plugins Loaded. Only after I open and display the plugins in Version X3 will Version X4 finally acknowledge them! Go figure! These two versions seem to be joined at the hip.
