Hi,
I need to put an ALT + 0156 character (œ) but it does not work.
When I create one with Work and copy/paste, only the o appear.
Any help is welcome

Re: Unable to set œ character
FWIW, I also cannot do it. I have tried the methods you suggested, plus the normal keyboard approach now used by Word (Ctrl+&, then o) to no effect. It would not work in either X4, X3 or X2, and with a variety of fonts, including the standard Times New Roman, Arial and Calibri... Hélas! Yet I have no trouble inserting Cyrillic characters (which is what I often use)...
Pas un chef-d'œuvre!! Are you using a French version of VS or the English one? It would be strange if they left out of the French version a distinct letter in the French alphabet...

Re: Unable to set œ character
I use an English VS version, same for all programs I install on my computer. Eventhough my Microsoft Office is an english version, ALT + 0156 gives me œ. Even this website works. When I copy /paste that character somewhere else (in other programs), it works but not in VS.
I tried ALT + 0412 but it doesn't work too. Any other idea how to fix this issue. That's a pitty that it doesn't work.

Re: Unable to set œ character
I just purchased the box version on Video Pro X4. I need to use some French words (with their accents) in my titles. I cannot see a Language button in the program. So I thought I'd set up the correct words in Word, but when I go and copy/paste in the title it doesn't work. Any idea? Thanks,

Re: Unable to set œ character
You can add the French langauge and French keyboard to the Language bar in Windows. You can enable that by right-clicking on the task bar, then select "Toolbars>Language Bar" (You can also set it up in the Control Panel.) You can then access "Settings" from the Language bar to add the French language and French keyboard. You'll have to read the Wikipedia article about how to enter the characters. As noted in the Wikipedia article, you won't be able to enter certain characters unless you install a special keyboard driver. After you install the driver, you can select it from the Language bar.
There is an article on Wikipedia about the French keyboard layout: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AZERTY
Here is where you can download the driver, as referenced in the Wikipedia article: http://users.numericable.be/denis.liegeois//kbdfrac.htm
In Corel VideoStudio, make sure the Language bar is set to the French language before you start entering a title. As you switch to other applications, the language may be reset to the default language for your operating system, so check the language bar if you can't enter French characters.
