Burning A CD

Post by paulfortunato »

I have some mp3 files that were downloaded from a website and some that I converted from a video into an mp3 file. When I go to make an audio disc and select them to be part of the files to burn, it says: Unopen to open file: File format mismatch 16803:1:3.

Then i converted them to wma and get : unable to open file FILE INVALID 18300:6000:07.

Yet when i click on either of them, they play fine in my wondows media player...am i doing something wrong?

I am guessing that it wants to use them as an MP3 file but I am not looking to make an MP3 disc...i need to make an audio disc so that i can get more songs on it that i ripped directly from the CD

Did you notice that the program you are using is called DVD Movie Factory. That is because it makes DVDs of movies. It is not an audio editing or authoring program.

I think Movie Factory is supposed to make audio CDs and it used to come with Burn. Now but I've never used it for audio....

Most CD burning applications can make an audio CD from MP3s or burn the MP3s directly to the CD as "data". If you don't have Roxio or Nero, ImgBurn is FREE and it works great for burning CDs & DVDs. Here are some instructions.
i need to make an audio disc so that i can get more songs on it...
just keep in mind that an audio CD is limited to about 80 minutes of audio.
...that i ripped directly from the CD
If you rip from a CD and later burn to audio-CD, it's best to rip to WAV because MP3 is lossy. You can mix-and-match WAV and MP3 if some files are downloaded. (You may not hear any quality loss, but it's just good practice to avoid the lossy encoding if you don't need a smaller file or a particular format for another reason.)

MF 7 Pro still comes with Burn. Now software (version 4.5). However, it is a separate program in the MF suite from DVD Movie Factory, and is used quite separately. Movie Factory will only use CDs to burn VCDs and SVCDs, not audio CDs. Moreover, the insert buttons in Movie Factory will only allow the insertion of video files, importing from video DVDs and AVCHD on discs or hard disks; creation of slideshows; and direct capture from a video device. No capacity to insert audio files in the burning timeline.

Burn. Now is not included in the MF 7 SE program.
