Hi, All
And a Happy New Year!
As part of my new year plans I'm busy sorting through shots I took last year on my Canon EOS 550D.
I took many shots in both JPEG and RAW format (same shot in each).
The JPEG images display and can be edited perfectly well in X3 but not the RAW files.
In the Organiser all shots (JPEG and RAW) look fine along the bottom strip.
But when I select a RAW file it displays momentarily in the main view as a slightly fuzzy image and then jumps to an elongated, vivid red & black image. Looking more closely X3 is cropping and NOT displaying three quarters of the right hand side of the shot. I just get a thin strip from the left hand side of the original shot.
A double click in Organiser takes me to the Camera RAW Lab where I get the same thin strip, red & black image.
Any ideas?

Re: RAW files display as Red and cropped
There may be a fix for this but I just use Canon Digital Photo Professional for my Canon raw files.

Thanks, Dan
I'll give that a try.
Sad reflection on Corel software though.
Sounds like the ultimate work-around................

Have you downloaded all the PSP X3 update? If not, you can download and install all the updates for PSP X3 at http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index. ... pid=800007.

Re: RAW files display as Red and cropped
Hi, Abiel
Yes, I've downloaded all the updates that I'm aware of - I believe I get automatic notifications.
But this morning I've uninstalled and reinstalled the X3 software and it seems to be working okay with the RAW files.
Only problem I now get is that if I've been editing RAW images for a while (maybe an hour or so) I start getting 'insufficient memory' messages. I'm guessing this might be something to do with the programme storing editing data during each session which must gradually build up?
There should be no problem with my computer capacity as it is brand new and a reasonably powerful beast (can provide info on that if required).
I've also loaded up the Canon software as suggested by df. This has (so far) worked flawlessly.

Re: RAW files display as Red and cropped
As you're on a 64 bit computer with more than 4 gig of RAM you might look at this posting http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... re#p234089 it leads to a different forum with a tiny program that addresses 32 bit programs on 64 bit machines not making use of half of the RAM that's available to the program.
There's also http://www.majorgeeks.com/CleanMem_d5993.html which is easy to install but it takes some wrangling to set up. If you can get it to clean your memory every 5 minutes PSP X3 will rarely run out of memory on your 64 bit machine. It does clean the memory on every program on your computer, so suspending it during things like a disk defrag is advisable.
