PSP X4 - Effects

Post by Boris007 »

Hello,
I am from germany - please excuse my english.
I work with PSP X4 (under Win7 Home Premium).

In the option "Effects" - "Geometrieeffects" - "parallelogram ..." I can only work with steps 1 or 2 or 3 ...
I need steps in dezimal.

What can I do ?
- a plug-in
- another program

Thanks for help.

I don't seem to have parallelogram in my list of Geometrical Effects... and I don't think any of the effects in this image would translate into German as parallelogram either...

Skew might as it allows you to skew the rectangle to look like a parallelogram. Have you tried the skew option of the pick tool?

I confirm that Skew goes from -45 to +45 in 1 degree steps. It will not accept a decimal point in the box.
Although obviously not quite the same as skew, free rotate does alllow increments of as little as 0.01 degrees. So possibly the desired effect might be more or less achievable by a combination of these?

Hey Boris007.

Select the Pick tool

Change the mode to Shear mode. Shear lets you use decimal values. I'm not sure how the words translate but you can see it here in the image. It's the same thing if you held down the Shift key when dragging.

And you can drag it around - this is similar to Skew but not exactly the same.

Unfortunately the Skew/Parallelogram does not accept values with decimal. Your best bet is to follow the suggestion of Levi on Skew of the Pick tool.
