Error at preparatory stage of DVD burning

Post by cowboy »

Hi all,

Did anyone encounter this error message with MF4 when burning a DVD project ?

"Convert Step got some problems ! (4570)
Report ID : 0x800411da(4570)"

Grateful if anyone knows what is wrong and how to go around it.

Just did a Google search on that code and returned this from the DVDHelp.us forum:

"After a couple days of trying everything I could think of, I found that the culprit was using .mp3 files for the menu background music. When I converted these files to .wav prior to burning, it worked fine. Needless to say I was quite upset that it was something so simple!"

Sounds like it is a bug but converting your music to a .wav file (or substituting the menu background music file with a .wav one) may be a work around.

Worth a shot - and let us know if it works.

Thanks a lot Chris. Will give it a try tonight.
It would be quite upsetting if it was this simple, moreover since MP3 is a, to put it mildly - quite common accepted format....

Succes!

I first converted all the used MP3 files to .WAV files.
Then started burning. Same error still.
Then I made sure that none of the filenames of the WAV files had spaces in them. E.g. the file ' born in the usa.wav' was renamed to bornintheusa.wav etc etc.
Then tried again and voila.. flawlessly..
Hope this helps!!

Did you perhaps re-try with the original mp3 renamed to have no spaces in the name ? Would be interesting to know if it's the mp3 or the spaces causing the problem.

Yes, I'd be keen to know also to try and pinpoint the problem a bit more.

Another test would be to use a VBR (variable bit rate) encoded mp3 versus a CBR (constant bit rate) encoded one - to see if it makes a difference.

I find the solution!

Hi !

I try during 1 week (I have to sleep now!) the differents things i read in this thread.
I can say that the solution is not in the name of mp3 or wav files, but when you write a title for your windows slideshow, you dont have to put "enter" - one or many times - if you want to write another word.

In my case it was:
Show must go on!
"enter"
"enter"
"enter"
"enter"
Pics from web

Now: only Pics from web and the title Show must go on! I put it directly in my pic using paint of windows.

Incredible and strange yes!...but so simple.

Hoping that this can help someone else to sleep more than me.
Bye

P.S. Another think: sometimes is better to close movie factory and start it again, dont ask me why...
