DVD Burn Problem VS Pro X4

Post by rhelmod »

When trying to burn DVDs, I am getting "The burner is busy with other applications" I dont currently have any other applications using the E drive. I did use it previously to Lightscribe several discs but quit that program. Is there something in the system tray that I need to delete as a project not completed? I do not know how to clear out this problem. Maybe something not finished from Lightscribe? Help would be appreciated.

It is possible you have installed a program whbich takes control of the burner and denies it to other applicatons. One such is the Nero InCD module, which show up separately in Control Panel > Programs and Updates. If it is there, you have to delete it (not the whole of Nero).

If you have the Roxio suite installed, it has a similar module, though I can't recall its name. But it is the module you send documents, files, music etc to to build up and then burn to disc. With this module, there is a selection in its menu that allows you to disable it.

I dont have either of those programs showing up. I think it is Lightscribe related. I will try to delete that software to see if it fixes the problem. Is there a cache for the E drive that I can access and erase somehow?

Hi Bob

Your operating system should have a AutoStart , AutoRun or Auto Play facility.
Sorry but I do not have Vista to compare………..

Try viewing the Control Panel.
AutoStart allocated to a particular program may be causing the problem.

---------------------------

Place a disc in the drive, from Computer / My Computer right click the drive and select Auto Run
Choose to Take no Action.—

After placing the disc in the drive a program may automatically start, this may be your problem.

You can also check the programs that are started automatically by going to MSCONFIG then click on the STARTUP tab. If you do not know how to start the MSCONFIG, then just press the Windows key button + "R", this will then open the RUN box then type MSCONFIG and click OK button.

Once the MSConfig is open you may want to focus on the Startup Item and Manufacturer. From there you'll know how and where to remove the program.
