I have a Sony HDR-CX700V and use the highest quality setting (HD 1920x1080 50fps).
I am making projects to play on a Dane-Elec So-Smart Media Player which plays Divx files.
My current workflow is: -
Import digital media from camcorder.
Edit (add titles, transition effects, etc.).
Share file using "Same as First Video Clip"
Properties: -
[PAL (25 fps)
MPEG files
24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 50 fps
Frame-based
(HDMV-PAL), 16:9
H.264 Video
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 25999 kbps)
Audio data rate: 448 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 3/2(L,C,R,SL,SR)]
Drag file into Divx Plus Converter (HD 1080P)
This creates the file to transfer onto the media Player.
Is this the best way to work for HD Quality?
Regards Pete.

Re: Workflow
I have just noticed that the Divx conversion translates the 1920x1080 to 1280x720.
I have definitely selected the HD 1080P profile for the output file, and the output file says it will be 1920x1080.
Strange.

Re: Workflow
Two questions:
Can you replay the file created as the same as the first clip (before divx conversion) on your PC without stutters and or/audio problems? Not possible in my case. I need to use a 20Mb/s setting for frame based 50p in VSX4.
How do you verify the 1280x720 divx format?

Re: Workflow
I use WinX HD for fullhd 1080p divx conversions. I think there is a trial version available.

Re: Workflow
This seems to be a Divx problem.
When using the 1080P profile: -
If I convert a 1920x1080 50fps it translates to a 1280x720 50fps divx
If I convert a 1920x1080 25fps it translates to a 1920x1080 25fps divx
Thanks for the replies.

Re: Workflow
When I create a "same as first video" VSX4 file form a 1920x1080p50 footage (from TM700 Panasonic @1080p50), I have no problems to get a 1920x1080p50 Divx file with my WinX HD converter (media Info verified). So your converter is your problem, and can not handle 1920x1080p50.
