Folks.....I'm having problems on two different PC's with creating a Share/Create Disk/ DVD project in Video Studio 11+. On one PC after I create the DVD project (three separate videos each with its own menu, etc) and save it, when I return later to actually burn the DVD the chapter names are gone. The rest of the information seems to still be there. Any ideas as to what is going wrong?
To try to get around the above problem I moved the videos, music, etc to my laptop (also Video Studio 11+) and there when I add the three videos to the Share/Create Disk/ DVD project and then click on Add/Edit Chapters, the video does not open up to allow me to move the jog bar and add chapters. If I click on the auto add option Visual Studio crashes. Any ideas about this problem?
Thanks and Merry Christmas......RDK
PS...I have the same experience on the laptop with Video Studio 12...

Can you tell us what is the version of Windows are you using on both PC? Because VS 11+ is not compatible with Windows 7, which explain the problem that you are having.

Re: Creating Chapters for a DVD Video Studio-11+
Thanks Abiel.....I'm running Windows 7 pro on the PC and Windows 7 Ultimate on the laptop. I'm surprised at your comment that Video Studio 11+ is not compatible with Windows 7 as it has been working perfectly on the PC, until this issue. I just ordered Video Studio X4 which I will install to see if it corrects the problem.
For the laptop, however, I have both Video Studio 11+ and Video Studio X2. Note for the laptop with Video Studio X2 I still had the problem of not being able to view the clip and select frames for chapters during the creation of the DVD menu in the Share / Creat Disk / DVD section. I believe that version is patched with the SP1 patch, but how can I tell? Any ideas? Thanks again.....RDK

Hi RDK45
There has been a problem with Video Studio not only retaining the chapter point names but the actual chapter points as well.
A little complicated depending on which workflow you use to burn the dvd, as to whether the chapter points are retained.
By adding chapter points within the burner module should retain the points but not the names.
A recent Service Patch for X4 has cured some issues with Chapter points, The names are retained after closing the burner module provided you re-save the project. Returning to the burner module should show the correct names.
I do not know if the trial version is using the Service Patch, so unsure if the chapter names will be retained.
There will be no further fixes or service Patches provided for VS11

Re: Creating Chapters for a DVD Video Studio-11+
Folks......Thanks to all who replied to my question. Finding out that Video Studio 11+ was not fully compatible with Windows 7, prompted me to uninstall it from my Windows 7 Ultimate Laptop. However, even with it gone Video Studio X2 would still not create chapter points in the Share / Create Disk / DVD section. I stewed about this and then decided to uninstall Video Studio X2 also, including making sure there were no Corel or ULead references left in the Registry. Then I reinstalled Video Studio X2. Now, magically, all is working or at least now I can create chapers points, haven't tested anything else.
Thanks again.....RDK

May I also recommend that you try VS X4, which is fully compatible with Windows 7 unlike version 11+ and X2. You can download the trial of VS X4 here.
