Video Studio Pro X3 Unable to Read String Error

Post by p2pgeek »

Hey everyone,

I have come to find that there is a small segment in my project that says unable to read string and I have deleted the files in that area to see what was causing this error and it does not seem to be video or music in this area. Because I move the playback marker to the opposite sides of this area and it seems to work fine but once I delete the files in this area and playback it does the same thing to the files that where on the other side of the files once there as the move in. Is there anything that can be done to fix this because I need this video t convert so that I may send it to my professor by January 1 or I will fail the course.

Please help me, I'm am at my wits ends!!!

Thanks for your help,

Just did a quick google on the error message that you are getting, it appears that it's related to the C++ programming.

Here are a number of steps that you can take to fix this.
- Update the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package for your Windows OS, you can visit http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/de ... px?id=5555 for more information.
- Update DirectX - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/179113
- Update the program, you can visit http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index. ... id=1000016 for all the updates of VS X3.
- Then last but not the least you may need to update or reinstall VS X3. You can visit http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... dio-Pro-X3 for the steps on how to remove the program. Then just redownload or use the same disc to reinstall the program

Still no luck. Is there anything else that can be done to fix this. I have updated c++ I have updated directX and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software on my computer. It continues to say file reading error at about 6% in in the spot that says string reading error. This section skipps when I try and play it or it just freazes completely. Every section around it seems to work just fine. I have also updated my codecs and everything. I have divx and QuickTime 6.0 installed to avoid the crashes caused by higher versions. What else can i do, I'm running out of time and petions. Thanks for your help.
