Making vector text "closed path"

Post by Torrianthane »

Is there any way to make vector text bear the characteristic of "closed path data"? Perhaps prior to, or after, applying the text in PSP? I am trying to import files from Corel PaintShop Photo Pro into MotionStudio 3D. I am able to bring in vector objects created, but is there a way to make it so that vector text works also, by making vector text "closed"?

Thanks!

If you mean for the text to follow the path after it's been closed and continue from the end point to the beginning and keep following the path I don't think so. But I don't use vector paths very much at all.

I too am slightly confused by what you mean by "closed." A closed path is one that has one node that is both the start and end point with no gaps. So technically text is already closed.

However, text is not a path in the same sense as what motion 3D might consider a path. In order to make Text a path you must convert it to a path. You can either do this as one giant path or making each character its own vector path.

Go to the Objects menu and select the options for "Convert to Path." That will handle that.
